<p><strong>Biggest surprise: </strong>Not really a big surprise to us in Division-I Select in terms of wins and losses, but credit to No. 20 Captain Shreve, the lowest seed to earn a win, for its performance on a long road trip of not only pulling off the upset, but doing so in such dominant fashion, 61-21.</p>

<p><strong>Other notes:</strong> No. 18 Bonnabel beat No. 15 Riverdale for the second straight week, 28-14, to add the program's first playoff win since 1997 to its first district title since 1998 in an impressive debut season for first-year coach Andre Anthony, the former Edna Karr and LSU standout. No. 14 Acadiana also beat No. 19 Carenco, 29-21, in another back-to-back rivalry rematch to mark an eighth straight victory for first-year Rams coach Doug Dotson (first-year leading the program, but not first head-coaching season) and company as they continue to put an 0-3 start to the season in their distant rearview. Captain Shreve notched its first playoff win since 2022.</p>
