Film Review: 2026 Quarterbacks Outside the 200s To Check Out

He throws with good anticipation. He knows exactly where he wants to throw the ball and throws with excellent anticipation. Evans also is good in the run game. He is good on designed run plays, but running for tough yards. He shows a good burst when he runs with the ball. Evans is a talented quarterback in the 2026 class.     [player_tooltip player_id='941162' first='Luke' last='Frey'] is a classic pocket quarterback who throws an excellent football. He does a good job of reading the defense and making the right throws. He has good mechanics and can throw in tight windows. He throws a good football that is catchable for receivers. Frey also does a good job of scrambling around and when the play breaks down he can find open receivers. Frey showed a ton of skill at quarterback last year for New Oxford.      Matt Ortega, I saw him throw at the Prep Redzone Showcase and came away impressed with his ability to throw. Then I went back and watched his film. I was very excited to watch him play and I came away very impressed. Ortega is a gamer at quarterback. He makes a ton of plays inside and outside of the pocket. Inside the pocket, he shows good mechanics and footwork. He also does a nice job of reading the defense and finding the open receiver based on what the defense gives him. Outside the pocket, he does an excellent job of scrambling around to find open receivers. Ortega is a talented and underrated prospect.     [player_tooltip player_id='647665' first='Noah' last='Lion'] is a true dual-threat quarterback for Laurel Highlands. He is equally as good at running as he is throwing the ball. As a thrower, he does an excellent job on designed plays to throw on the run. He will sprint out find an open receiver and deliver a good football. In the pocket, he does a good job of setting his feet and throwing a good ball. In the run game, he plays well. He is a dynamic runner who is hard to bring down. He is equally as good on designed run plays or when the play breaks down and he scrambles for big plays. Lion is a playmaker at quarterback.     [player_tooltip player_id='648151' first='Jaden' last='Shedlock'] is a quarterback with running back skills. He is a legit threat to score every time he touches the ball. Crestwood ran a ton of QB-designed run plays and Shedlock excelled at these plays. He is like a fullback at running back, who is hard to bring down, but once he gets into the open field he flashes legit speed to run by defenders. As a thrower of the football Shedlock shows he has a good arm and excellent footwork. This is an area he will continue to improve in, but as a runner, he has elite ability.     [player_tooltip player_id='1077174' first='Wyatt' last='Brosious'] is a football player who plays as a quarterback and a defensive back. He is a gamer who can do a ton of things on the football field. As a quarterback, he throws a beautiful deep ball. He puts the perfect amount of touch on the ball. He has excellent footwork in the pocket and delivers a good football. He is also a good runner in both designed QB run plays and when the play breaks down he can scramble around to make a play. He also played as a defensive back and did a good job in both coverage and coming upfield to make tackles in the open field. Brosious is a dynamic football player.     [player_tooltip player_id='402435' first='Brody' last='Coyle'] has limited film from last year, but he looks like he will be the starter this year for Scranton. He has excellent mechanics and footwork in the pocket. Coyle has shown he can deliver a good deep ball. He also does a nice job of throwing with anticipation and trusting his receivers to be open to catch the ball. Coyle has a good chance to start and shine this year for Scranton.     [player_tooltip player_id='1158413' first='Cole' last='Lazorick'] is an underrated quarterback in the 2026 class. I was blown away by his film from last year. Lazorick is like a machine in the pocket. He processes information quickly and delivers a good football. He has impeccable mechanics in the pocket. He throws a good deep ball, with the perfect amount of touch on it. He also showed that he is capable as a runner in designed run plays. Lazorick is a talented quarterback and I cannot wait to see him play this season as well.
