YOUAREATHLETE National Junior Showcase: Dime Droppers

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It was a great weekend in Houston and the athletes came from all over the United States to compete against the best in the YOUAREATHLETE National Junior Showcase. The beautiful turf fields and the surrounding areas served as a perfect setting to accommodate the families that made the trip. The QB MVP from The Boot was letting it fly in 1v1's and 7v7's. He has a quick release and gets good velocity on the ball. King is very athletic and it shows in his footwork, but what really popped to me was his arm strength. There wasn't a throw that he couldn't make out there, specifically great touch on deep balls. The 6'3', 2028, from California passes the eye test and backs it up with a big arm. Brodie was 1 of 9 8th graders that were invited to participate in the Junior and All-American Showcase. He didn't disappoint at either level displaying the ability complete passes from middle school receivers to elite ranked high schoolers. Brodie stands tall in the pocket and picked apart DB's this weekend. Schmahl threw a few TD's with ZERO interceptions. He showed a good command of the field when he was up and was a great teammate when the other QB's were taking snaps. The Illinois native demonstrated his aptitude to fit the ball in to tight spaces as well as throwing receivers open. Selby's more of a compact build and uses it to his advantage. His footwork is tight, he makes sharp reads and he has the arm talent. Whether it was 1v1's or 7v7's he was completing passes and moving the ball down field with an array of throws. He even bumped out to receiver to catch a TD, the kid is an athlete. He came in to camp like he owned it and held it down. Pritzkau is about to head into his 8th grade year and he already possesses the headiness of a high school QB. I mean what I say, he shows poise and confidence in the pocket all the while making great reads and throwing dots. He was the youngest QB that was out there this weekend, but you would never have known it by his play. He can straight spin it. Gavin will continue to grow both mentally and physically in the coming years, so his stock is justifiably trending on the right path.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
