Expert Analysis
Kelly Christian | Prep Redzone Scout
The speed of Schmahl’s decision-making stood out, as he was releasing the ball in the last step of his drop consistently. This led to many big plays down the field, hitting go routes, corners, and posts without the receiver having to stop or come back to the ball. He is proactive with his eyes, understanding where the offense has the advantage pre-snap, even looking off defenders opposite to come back to that same side. Schmahl also displayed great accuracy in the intermediate game, throwing curls and comebacks on time and in rhythm.

Noah Schmahl was one of my favorites to watch. This young man was throwing dots all day and even the balls that weren’t caught was still pretty. He threw guys open or dropped it in the bucket where only they could catch it. His mechanics were solid and his arm strength was deceiving when you looked at his stature. Good thing, he’s still a puppy and as he grows into what I believe to be a stud QB in the making, we will witness that size is only a part of the equation.

Noah came out to Houston on a mission this weekend and he and his teammates went 4-0 to win the camp 7v7 tournament. Schmahl threw a few TD’s with ZERO interceptions. He showed a good command of the field when he was up and was a great teammate when the other QB’s were taking snaps. The Illinois native demonstrated his aptitude to fit the ball in to tight spaces as well as throwing receivers open. Great upside.
