The majority of the participants were rising Seniors but there were a few underclassmen that caught my eye. He will be paired with one of the top rising Sophomore QBs in the State this Fall as [player_tooltip player_id='262739' first='JR' last='Harris'] returns behind center. Long and lean and very strong in the weight room. An explosive tackler with a great 1st step that gets downhill fast to the line of scrimmage. Plays good man to man coverage and is physical with strong hands.rnrnThe projected strong safety picked up a lot of traction in the recruiting world this off season. He measured out at 6'2 243 and blew the metrics out of the water. Ran a top 5 40 yard dash and L-Cone and had a 10'4 broad jump.rnrnInteresting recruit that could play at multiple positions at the next level. Since last years Camp he has picked up 1st Team All Region and All Forsyth County honors. Outstanding in the classroom with a 3.8 GPA.rnrnColleges are taking note of this diamond in the rough with Jax St, Kennesaw St, Wofford and Miami (OH) taking interest as of late. Shows the speed and athletic ability...u0022. u003c/emu003eStokes plays all 3 major sports at Trion and has added 18 pounds of muscle since we saw him at Shorter last Summer.rnrnHe could easily play offense or defense at the next level but I think the defensive side of the ball may be his natural spot. Plays with a lot of intensity and has a nasty streak that transitions well at the DE spot.rnrnHe had 27 catches last season for 409 yards for the Region Champs, adding 6 TDs. All Region performer on the defensive side with 109 TT and 6 sacks. An all-around athlete that can throw a baseball and shoot a basketball.rnrnSince last Summer he has picked up offers from Cornell and Wofford and has interest from several other D1 program. Had 67 TT and recovered 2 fumbles last season. A physical guy that has good vision and gets downhill quick. Good fundamental tackler that will even be more polished once he gets a few seasons in the weight room. He has already added 10 pounds since we saw him last Summer and is up to 192 now and should eclipse the 200 pound mark by the time he graduates. He was coming off a Freshman campaign where he was named HM All Region OL for the Rebels and he held his own at Camp against more veteran players. u003cemu003eu0022Showed good balance and knee bend in the 1 v 1 drills. Slides well with good use of hands, good agility for a big guy.u0022u003c/emu003ernrnJayse followed up his freshman season with a solid sophomore season last Fall. Was named 2nd team All Region in 2-7A. Good run blocker that gets plenty of work in the run heavy Rebel offense the last few seasons.
