It would highlight 50 seniors-to-be as they navigate May and June, two incredibly important months for recruits who play host to college coaches at their high schools, take campus visits and work out at summer camps for scouts. The idea was to provide them as much exposure as possible during a critical juncture.
Turns out, there are more than 50 out there. We should have known better with the level of football in this state. So, let’s keep rolling.
You can check out the first 10 parts of the series HERE. It’s the 10th installment with links to the first nine. Part XI is HERE, Part XII is HERE and Part XIII HERE.
Here’s a look at five more student-athletes:
Kolton Borcherding-Johnson
Kolton
Borcherding-Johnson
6'1" | 260 lbs | DL
Norwalk | 2025
State
IA
, DL, Norwalk
The younger brother of Iowa defensive tackle Maddux Borchering-Johnson, Kolton is another physical performer on the interior. He wrestles like his older sibling did in high school, too.
Kolton looks like he can help plenty of programs on the next level at defensive tackle when viewing his junior highlight video. That said, he boasts a skill set that would work on offense as well.
On defense, Kolton explodes off of the snap but does so under control. In addition to the power, he’s quick on his feet, moving well laterally and also in chasing down ball carriers. He does a nice job of wrapping up upon arrival.
Northern Iowa played host to Kolton last month. He’s been invited to a summer camp there along with events at Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota State, Penn, Montana and elsewhere.
Gage Olsen
Gage
Olsen
5'10" | 185 lbs | DB
Valley (WDM) | 2025
State
IA
, DB, WDM Valley
Like plenty of others on the Valley roster, Olsen is being overshadowed, to a degree, by talented teammates. The Tigers consistently supply colleges with ballers, and Olsen is among the next in line.
As a junior, Olsen played a a key role in the secondary for an outfit that reached the UNI-Dome for a second year in a row. He piled up 35.0 tackles (1.0 TFL), forced a fumble and picked off a pass. He also returned kicks and punts at times.
When we watch Olsen’s junior highlight video, there’s a playmaker with a high football IQ and feel for the game. He diagnoses plays quickly, getting into position for tackles or taking away opportunities in the passing game. The Tigers use him as a slot corner/safety, and that’s probably where he fits best on the next level.
Olsen claims scholarship offers from Sioux Falls and Minnesota State. Drake has been very active in recruiting him. He took spring visits there, South Dakota State and Western Illinois, and was invited to camp with Kansas State.
Carson Lage
Carson
Lage
6'3" | 180 lbs | WR
North Scott | 2025
State
IA
, WR, North Scott
Lage is one half of a dynamic pair of senior receivers at North Scott this season. He and Cash Bowe Cash Bowe 6'3" | 175 lbs | WR North Scott | 2025 State IA make it tough for opponents to double team either one of them.
The pair combined to catch 71 passes for 1,029 yards and nine touchdowns. Not many schools in the state came at you with a pair of athletic 6-3 receivers, but they’ll be putting pressure on defenses again in 2024.
Lage also stands out in baseball, where he leads the team in runs scored (3) and on-base percentage (.438) early in the season. His junior football highlights reflect well on his ability to perform in that sport.
The first clip shows his straight-line speed, leaping ability and skill in adjusting to balls in flight. From there, we see a wideout with reliable hands that is technically sound at running a variety of routes.
Kaz Rebarcak Kaz Rebarcak 6'4" | 200 lbs | QB Davenport North | 2025 State IA , QB, Davenport North
The sometimes overlooked Davenport public schools still produce solid talent even if the days of Elmer Layden and Roger Craig are long in the rearview. Rebarcak sticks out as a guy who could impact a program on the next level.
Excellent arm strength and a quick release are apparent in the first clip on his junior highlight video. Rebarcak then shows those strengths again and again throughout the film. While he’s more of a pro-style quarterback that works out of the shotgun, he’s not a statue back there and he cashes in on designed runs.
Rebarcak shows pocket presence and elusiveness when under pressure. He completes passes from multiple arm angles and is not easily rattled. He keeps his eyes down field and sees all of it.
Recruiting is picking up for Rebarcak. New Iowa offensive coordinator Tim Lester met with him last week at North, and the signal caller will camp with the Hawkeyes on June 2. South Dakota watched him throw last week, and he has been invited to camps at Houston, Kansas State, Western Kentucky, among others.
Harrison Tripp
Harrison
Tripp
6'2" | 225 lbs | LB
Norwalk | 2025
State
IA
, LB, Norwalk
Tripp is one of those prospects where the current production lines up with his potential to develop a lot more. Part of that equation is the physicality with which he plays can translate to college with room to grow his game and frame.
Wrestling and track are other sports in which Tripp stands out. That athleticism and consistent competition shines through when we watch his junior highlight video.
Tripp is a high-energy linebacker with a knack for identifying plays quickly. The saying “flying around to the football” certainly applies to him. He’s a sound tackler that embraces the game’s physicality.
A camp schedule that includes stops at Iowa, Northern Iowa, South Dakota State and the Lindenwood Mega awaits Tripp. He visited those schools along with Northern Illinois during the spring.
