Here is the second installment of a series highlighting the top uncommitted prospects in the state’s 2025 Class. The first one includes five student-athletes. Here are five more:
Wisdom Fode Wisdom Fode 6'2" | 185 lbs | ATH Des Moines North | 2025 IA , ATH, Des Moines North
Kansas State reportedly offered Fode a scholarship in early February. He visited Iowa for a game last fall and again last month to watch spring practice.
Fode (6-2, 185) caught 11 passes for 114 yards and collected 20.0 tackles as a defensive back in ’23. He looked like a lock-down cornerback during his junior highlight video. He showed potential at receiver, too.
Fode is smooth in his back pedal with slick hip movement in changing directions. He tracks the ball well and closes on it quickly.
As a receiver, he benefits from being faster than opponents. He shows he can win contested balls with leaping ability and strong hands.
Ethan Wood Ethan Wood 6'4" | 220 lbs | DL Mount Vernon | 2025 IA , TE/DL, Mount Vernon
Wood reportedly holds a scholarship offer from Boise State. Plenty of other programs are showing interest in him, including Iowa, Iowa State, Northern Illinois, South Dakota State, North Dakota State, Northern Iowa, South Dakota and North Dakota.
The 6-foot-4, 220-pound Wood flashes the potential to be a productive edge rusher at the next level during his junior highlight video. You can also see a future college tight end on other clips.
As a junior, Wood caught 24 passes for 347 yards and three touchdowns. He impressed with his speed, route running and agility.
Wood piled up 17.0 tackles for loss and 10.5 sacks. He exploded off of the snap but stayed under control. Opponents struggled to block him.
Marcus McGregor, OL, WDM Valley
McGregor claims scholarship offers from Wyoming, North Dakota State, Northern Iowa and North Dakota. Some of the bigger schools he’s visited, like Iowa and Iowa State, would like to see him at camp next month.
If the 6-3, 280-pounder shows out during those stops, his recruitment could spike. Either way, he already is fortunate with opportunities from strong programs.
McGregor looks the part of a productive offensive lineman at the next level during his junior highlight video. He moves well and holds up physically at left tackle in high school, which aids him in run blocking and pass protection.
College coaching staffs would be wise trying to keep him outside. That said, his could kick inside, where his athleticism and quickness would work well with added weight and strength.
Rayce Heitman Rayce Heitman 6'1" | 180 lbs | ATH Williamsburg | 2025 State IA , ATH, Williamsburg
Heitman has been on my radar since seeing him play in the state semifinals as a sophomore in ’22. He impressed again as an 11-grader last fall.
South Dakota offered Heitman a scholarship last month. He’s visited Iowa, Iowa State and others.
Heitman (6-2, 175) is somewhat of a puzzle as far as future position. He plays receiver and linebacker for the state champion Raiders. Defensive back seems like a reasonable possibility with his skill set as well.
During his junior highlight video, Heitman adds in the option of using him on special teams, too. He’s elusive as a returner. His combination of athleticism, toughness and instincts for the game make it likely that he’ll help your football team somewhere on the field.
Jozef Reisz Jozef Reisz 6'3" | 220 lbs | ATH Harlan Community | 2025 State IA , TE/DE, Harlan
Jozef’s older brother, Franz Reisz Franz Reisz 6'5" | 235 lbs | DL Harlan Community | 2024 State IA , is a commitment in UNI’s ’24 Class. The younger sibling reports scholarship offers from Lindenwood, and has visited North Dakota State, Kansas State, Wyoming, Northern Iowa and South Dakota State this spring.
Jozef Reisz Jozef Reisz 6'3" | 220 lbs | ATH Harlan Community | 2025 State IA (6-3, 220) hauled in 33 passes for 437 yards and three touchdowns as a junior last fall. He added 36.5 tackles (21 solo, 5.5 for loss) with 2.0 sacks and two interceptions.
When watching his junior highlight video, you’re intrigued by his clips at tight end. He runs crisp routes and looks very athletic playing the position. Harlan does a nice job moving him around the formation, and he proves versatile enough to carry out the assignments.
On defense, Reisz flows well to the football as an outside linebacker/edge. The speed and agility that help him at tight end also work really well on defense.
