Prep Redzone Dakotas Combine: TE Standouts

SIOUX FALLS-- We close out Wednesday night with more scouting reports from our Prep Redzone Dakotas Combine, looking at the Tight Ends that caught our eyes. Sioux Falls Christian continued to dominate our Dakotas Combine with their talent, and we found plenty of talent too with positional flexibility and prospects that have high upside for the next level. Let us meet the TEs that stuck out the most, including our Co-MVPs.    Canyon was a 2026 TE prospect that intrigued me with watching his attention to detail going thru Indy Drills. You could tell he wanted to show off his balance and technique in which I saw the practice walk thrus pay off for Canyon deeper into our combine as he showed off a prospect that picks up new skillsets quickly. He made my second-team for tight ends and was another that was in a tight race to make 1st team. Bright future for this kid and one with great position flexibility.     Tucker was another addition to our 2nd Team at Tight End and is one that to me has a lot of upside yet to develop. Tucker showed off sound hands from the reps I caught from him as there was great consistency throughout our Prep Redzone Dakotas Combine. No question a college football strength program could certainly add some strength on this young man as I also do think looking at his testing numbers, that the tight end position translates well for him at the next-level with that upside I mentioned. I believe there is a handful of North Dakota small colleges that would be great fits for Tucker. <a href="https://x.com/TheTucker_Lang">Twitter</a>     The irony of Troy's last name fits well with my evaluation as it just so happens that way Troy catches the football caught my attention in Sioux Falls. The receptions that I saw Troy make were quickly brought to his chest and showed quick progressions getting upfield with more agile movement of a wide receiver versus a tight end. This also matches up with his testing numbers, as Troy tested well with his agility, with a 4.5 in the short shuttle and 7.4 in the L-Drill. At 5'11 185 pounds, no doubt that wide receiver is his best positional fit at the next-level and the testing numbers and what I saw with my eye-test back that up.     Mitchell has been a tight end that is on the rise this offseason and that rise continued at our Prep Redzone Dakotas Combine a couple Saturdays ago. A member of the 1st Team All-Camp Team, Mitchell showed off as one of the most athletic tight ends we had in attendance and certainly was the most athletic in the 2026 class of tight ends we had. Mitchell by far had the best eye-test body type with plenty of strength yet to grow over the coming years and beyond and at 6'3, that length will certainly appease to college coaches up the road in my eyes as we get more tape on him too. <a href="https://x.com/MitchGuth08">Twitter</a>     Cameron made the most of his nearly five hour drive, taking home our vote for Co-MVP amongst tight ends at our Prep Redzone Dakotas Combine in Sioux Falls. Cameron caught every ball I saw thrown his way, and make receptions within some tight windows on a persistent basis. Cameron also caught my attention with his balance around the edges of the field, as he showed off plenty to like if you are a college coach with his footwork and attention to detail. Cameron to me is more under the radar than he should be and should catch waves with college coaches very soon. <a href="https://x.com/cameronk444">Twitter</a>     I can assure you will not see too many tight ends that run a sub 4.8 in South Dakota especially with the frame Sioux Falls Christian 2026 TE Nick Popkes plays with. Nick was the other part of our Co-MVP for Tight Ends in Sioux Falls at our Prep Redzone Dakotas Combine, as this kid has plenty of traits that kept drawing me to him in our live eval. Two of the most that stuck out were has excellent hands and he also showed off routine balance with his size that showed off plenty of power in those hands of his.
