SIOUX FALLS-- On Saturday, we took our talents to Augustana University as they were gracious hosts for our bi-yearly Prep Redzone Dakotas Combine. Let me just say that this combine was a hit as we hit an all-time record for attendance and another important stat which you don't see at most camps, kept the DB/WR to almost 1 to 1 and there were plenty of reps to go around along with elite coaching from the NSIC champions and other college programs, and I could just feel the energy that the kids had a ton of fun.

For the next week or two, we will be in full-content mode from the Prep Redzone Dakotas Combine. Tonight, we start with the Offensive MVPS. What did this group bring to the table? A 2026 class full of stockrisers, 2025s getting their first offers, and the development and watching the upside pay off dividends for these young man is another skill that was fantastic to see. Let's get to it!

Talk about a quarterback that is becoming the total package, that describes Centerville 2026 quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='825396' first='Alec' last='Austin'] to a T. I will say, Alec was one of my pre-combine favorites for QB MVP and he certainly lived up to that hype on Saturday at Augustana. My flashback came to watching Alec on the same field where I got his "first look" of a live evaluations and was very impressed with the athleticism he had to grow as just a freshmen. That athleticism showed further when I watched him at testing, where the 6'2+ 212 pound tested great for his athletic frame with a 4.51 short shuttle, 9'0 broad jump, and stretched out to just over 78 (6'6) inches with his wingspan which showed the athletic length this young man has put together. His has grown significantly from an athlete to a quarterback in our 2026 rankings, and showed a rapid fire release on short and intermediate routes I witnessed. The best rep from Alec (see below) came in 1v1s when he showed off how much arm strength and precision he has with his body and threw an sure-fire dart 45+ yards that had plenty of meat on the ball to go even deeper. I would offer Alec sooner rather than later.

There is nothing better than a prospect under our radar coming into our combine and getting an MVP, which was the case with Spencer (IA) 2026 running back [player_tooltip player_id='1242951' first='Kamden' last='Young']. Kamden you could tell with the early eye test at the start of the combine has been working his tail off in the weight room since football season ended, as it looks like he as added 15 or so pounds to 5'11 180 pounds. From what I got out of Kamden, he showed off a tailback that is the bruiser-type that relishs contact vs. bouncing to the outside that is seen commonly. I also liked this young man's quickly shown versatility in pass-catching drills at Augustana, as after taking a look at his tape, he certainly is going to add some new tools to use at his disposal getting back to Spencer. Kamden showed off a lot of pure explosion at our Prep Redzone Dakota's combine and I will be intrigued to see exactly where his broad jump testing came out to when released tomorrow as there is a lot there that I saw that shows off a high upside brewing coming into the 2024 season.

Consistency is key, and It did not take long at all to see those consistent explosive traits that [player_tooltip player_id='848975' first='Shane' last='Veenhof']f had at our Prep Redzone Dakotas Combine after already having an impressive showing at the Riggs Combine a few weeks back. This young man blasts off with the suddenness within his first step, and showed off why he is an upcoming stockriser amongst our wide receivers as the early separation was always there for Shane at Augustana on Saturday. Shane plays significantly bigger than 6'0 160 pounds and that showed clear in Sioux Falls. The agile instincts Shane plays with as just a sophomore shows off a high ceiling with brewing stock for this young man as I can certainly see Shane moving up to WR2 in our 2026 rankings due to his quick growth thru coaching in the last handful of weeks. You can sure add Shane to my list as an early offer prospect in South Dakota's 2026 class.

Did the Madison Bulldogs take over our offensive MVPs? Yes, you could say that, as myself and the college coaches enjoyed watching the reps that [player_tooltip player_id='472843' first='Israel' last='Ouverson'] of Madison showed off on Saturday at Augustana. You can tell that this young man has put in the work in the weight room this offseason, as I loved watching the improvement with the higher speed of his footwork. Israel also showed much more balance within his overall stance from all the reps I got to watch, with damaging quick hands and I felt got even smoother with his pad-level from our last live evaluation. There has never been a question on Israel's physicality, as he one of the hardest hitting offensive linemen in the SD 2025 class, but the body transformation (325 to 285) I saw from last Spring's Prep Redzone Dakotas Combine to now is certainly going to grab more attention with college coaches with the grown strength he has gotten which that was commonly heard from coaches that were in attendance that I spoke with. Picked up his first offer yesterday, and that won't be close to his last one.
