Saved some of the best prospects for last! Seriously, the Davenport camp was great. This camp had plenty of familiar faces in addition to several brand-new prospects. This article will cover three familiar prospects, plus two that I haven't seen until this camp!

Before this camp started, I swore I wouldn't have enough notes to write about [player_tooltip player_id='602292' first='Matthew' last='Evans']. Frankly, I've watched Matthew so many times in the past that I'm confident I know who he is as a player. I was surprised to see him with a black t-shirt at camp, meaning he was competing as a defensive back. His testing times indicate significant improvement in the broad jump, while performing worse in the shuttle when compared to his performance at the Prep Redzone Combine last month.

I was also able to watch Matthew during a few DB reps. In the two reps that I noted, he looked a little raw, but had solid ball skills and good recovery. His feet, hips, and reaction time could all be improved, but I've always thought Matthew had a high ceiling. He was so good that he ended up earning an offer from Davenport post-camp!

DB | [player_tooltip player_id='602097' first='Cooper' last='Voeffray'] | Avondale | @Cooper_Voeffray

Cooper had himself a solid day but lacked the testing numbers and 1v1 success to garner an offer. His testing times were all over the board. Cooper posted a good 40, an above-average shuttle, but a poor broad jump when compared to my statistics. During he 1v1 portion, Cooper had a few wins and a few losses. On one of those losses, the opposing receiver made him bite on a head fake outside before cutting inside for a 5-yard slant. Cooper didn't bite too much, but it made him stutter-step, which ended up allowing the receiver to earn separation and win the rep. At the D2 and D1 college levels, there's a lot of little things that are very vital in earning an offer. Cooper is currently a fringe D2 prospect for me, and he's got to improve with his change of direction and reaction time if he's going to get a GLIAC offer.

WR | Traevion Meadows | MLK (John Carroll) | @TraevionMeadows

Traevion was a huge wildcard heading into the camp, as he's currently in the transfer portal. There's a lot to love about Traevion's game in addition to a lot that needs work. Traevion was one of the more athletic and well-build prospects at the camp, having great testing numbers and a very muscular build. He looked good in the individual drills and was running good routes all day. The one major thing that Traevion struggled with was drops. He had several drops on the day, and some balls that he didn't drop he still bobbled. It didn't matter the route, either. Outs, ins, comebacks, etc he struggled with. I will say, he had more trouble with out routes near the sideline than anything else. Lastly, his testing times back up what I saw. He posted great numbers across the board for his size and position. It's obvious that Traevion is a talented prospect, and I hope he'll be able to find a home in the GLIAC.

DB | [player_tooltip player_id='1217556' first='Wyatt' last='Skiera'] | Big Rapids | @moose0773

I was extremely impressed with Wyatt's performance on Sunday. He's been on my radar ever since my Hudl Discoveries article covering the CSAA Gold. There, I note how physical and gritty Wyatt is. During Sunday's camp, he showed that same grit while making a few great plays as a defensive back. I can't speak for the positional drills, but during the competition portion, I thought he had the fastest feet and some of the quickest reaction time of anyone. I was also impressed with his ball skills. Wyatt swatted several balls away while playing tight man coverage. Better yet, I love his testing numbers. His 40 and shuttle are well above-average, even for a defensive back. His broad jump was less impressive, but still above-average for college prospects at his position. He's a sure-fire D2 prospect for me moving forward, and as long as he keeps up the good work, he'll be someone I'll pound the table for in a year's time.

DB | Je'Von Martin | Belleville | No Twitter

From my little time watching he DBs, I thought Je'Von was the most consistent playmaker. This is yet another very consistent, technically sound Belleville player. I don't have a single catch given up listed on my notes sheet. Je'Von was consistently lockdown, thanks to skillful press coverage, fast feet, phenomenal reaction time, + good ball skills. If I had to guess, he'd be a high-tier D2 prospect. His testing 40 time could be a touch faster, but he still has great numbers across the board. I'm not sure what offers he currently has, but barring awful testing numbers or bad grades, Je'Von deserves D2 opportunities.
