The rest of the teams have been shaken up into brand-new leagues. One of these new leagues is the OK-Black. This article will feature seven brand-new high-upside prospects in the OK-Black! Check back tomorrow morning for Part 2!
’25 WR | Gavin Buck | East Grand Rapids | @GavinBuck16
First up, we’ve got Gavin Buck from East Grand Rapids. He’s a raw but solid possession receiver who secured some big catches during the season. He especially excels at sitting down in holes in the zone. His production wasn’t the best last season, but a good offseason will propel him into a larger role as a Senior. I see he’s a dual-sport athlete with LAX and also has experience returning kicks. Looking forward to seeing Gavin build off his 2023 season.
’26 DE/DT | Grayson Fuller | East Grand Rapids | @GraysonFuller66
Grayson has great JV tape, and I think his game will translate very well to Varsity. First off, he’s a self-reported 6’3″ 220. If that height and weight are true, that bodes extremely well for his performance and recruitment down the road. At the JV level, Grayson was able to win blocks with minimal technique. In other words, his size was enough to beat JV linemen. The play at 3:33 flashes great hands and power, and I hope to see many more plays like that next year on Varsity.
’26 QB | Josh McCune | East Grand Rapids | @joshmccune5
I’m looking forward to seeing what Josh will develop into. Last season, he was QB1 for EGR’s JV team. He had himself a solid season, completing 68% (54/79) of his passes for 1083 yards and 16 touchdowns. He shows flashes of a good deep ball, solid throw power over the middle of the field, and solid basic fundamentals. However, Josh needs to improve his IQ, throwing mechanics, throw power, and overall accuracy before becoming a great Varsity QB. The foundation is there, but work needs to be done. Thankfully, Josh has over a year to hone is craft.
’25 TE/DE | Raef Goosen Raef Goosen 6'3" | 210 lbs | LB Grand Rapids Catholic Central | 2025 State MI | Catholic Central | @GoosenRaef
Raef is a raw tight end prospect with great physical traits. He self-reports as 6’3″, 210, and that looks about right on film. The scheme that CC runs allows Raef to develop into a very well-rounded tight end prospect. Raef has quite a few blocking highlights, and the foundation is there. He’s decently physical and has enough effort to effectively block most of his competition. Better blocking fundamentals and strength would bring his game to a whole new level. There’s also room to grow with route running and catching. His routes are fine, but he can improve his change of direction and run-after-catch ability. He can also showcase more of a wide catch radius and better hands.
I know I said a lot there, but I truly believe that Raef can develop into a phenomenal high school TE with some practice. Can’t wait to see him take the field next season!
’26 DL | Andrew Kileen | Catholic Central | @kileen_andrew
Here’s another raw but high-ceiling prospect from Catholic Central. He lines up anywhere from a 3-5 tech. His 6’5″ 210 size makes for an extremely high-ceiling prospect, but he is currently very raw. His getoff and hands need some work. Andrew can work through blocks and make tackles against the run, but currently lacks the power to be a great defensive lineman. This is a wait-and-see kind of prospect, and I’m excited to see how he improves heading into next season.
’26 S/DB | Brayden Sweeney Brayden Sweeney 6'1" | 185 lbs | DB Grand Rapids Catholic Central | 2026 State MI | Catholic Central | @bsweeney07
Brayden is a very good run defender, and he’s skilled at working through blocks, even against good blocking receivers. I’d like to see more from Brayden’s pass defense, but he truly defends the run like a linebacker. The highlight at 0:43 shows Bradyen shed a block with great physicality, then, he makes a huge tackle. Several other highlights show him engaging with a blocker, only to throw him off and make a play. He’s a nightmare matchup against a team who likes to spread the ball out but doesn’t have great blocking receivers.
’25 LB/FB | Easton Hanninen Easton Hanninen 5'10" | 180 lbs | DL Northview | 2025 MI | Northview | @easton_hanninen
Easton is a straight-up football player. Where he lacks in speed and athleticism, he makes up for it with great physicality and between the tackles run stopping. There are several plays in Easton’s tape where he lays a hit on a blocker before screaming into the backfield for a tackle. I like his reaction time, and overall, he’s a solid run stopper. As a fullback, he plays with extreme physicality and effort. I was happy to see Easton at our Combine Series, and I’m looking forward to seeing how he’ll improve in the near future.
