This marks the second year in a row that I covered the event. Pennisi has grown his significantly from last year. With over 400 prospects registered for the event, I had my work cut out for me to identify and scout some of the event’s standouts. As I feverishly wrote notes, here are my scouting notes from the position group disclosed in this article’s title.
PSR BIG Camp Series Event Coverage
Scout’s Notebook: Tight Ends
Camden sent tight end Ty-Shon Nock Ty-Shon Nock 6'2" | 170 lbs | WR Camden | 2025 NJ to compete at the PSR BIG Camp Series this weekend. Nock stands at 6’2″ and comes with an expansive catch radius to match. That said, I noticed how Nock would extend and reach for passes that were within his radius. Blessed with size and athleticism, I can see him being a mismatch nightmare for linebackers and safeties alike, while being his quarterback’s best friend. Nock should continue to be aggressive, particularly when coming back to throws, as the best place for the ball in in his hands, as soon as possible, and not in the air.
Scout’s Notebook: Running Backs
Toward the end of last season I recall covering Noah Santos Noah Santos 5'5" | 145 lbs | RB Secaucus | 2025 NJ as he needed 305 yards to crack 1,000 on the season. In that final game against Whippany Park he managed 307 yards and scored 5 times. At the PSR BIG Camp Series I finally got a look at the rising junior. At first glance, I am being honest I probably overlooked the 5’5″ prospect until I looked at a roster and recognized his name. Once I locked in and watched I saw what makes Santos so effective. Santos as a very unique ability to turn a corner. During indy he had some of the sharpest cuts and moved the best in tight spaces. This translated to competition phases as his cuts were awfully tight and quick….. Demere White Demere White 5'6" | 155 lbs | RB Millville | 2025 NJ from Millville certainly fits the mold and prototype of prospect they have been cultivating down there in recent years: shifty and quick. On a Texas route I happened to watch, White was matched up against a linebacker and had him nearly fall out of his cleats when he made the cut back to the middle of the field. White also sold the flare-to-wheel well in order to hit such a dramatic cut.
Union City’s
Mark Boyd

, low-key, might be my favorite back in the class of 2025 to watch. Everything Boyd did just simply looked so silky smooth. Boyd runs so well that I cannot decide if he is floating or skating. Additionally, Boyd makes sharp cuts in his routes – something that I can see colleges profiling him as a one-cut zone scheme back….. St. Peter’s Prep is home to rusher
Tyler Barksdale

Barksdale
5'6" | 175 lbs | RB
St. Peter's Prep | 2026

. Not to be confused with Avon, this Barksdale is also a hustler who wants to win and beat his competition at all costs. One particular play I admired Barksdale’s effort as he fought through the wire. While running his route, Barksdale got tripped up due to incidental tangling of feet, but the man defending him maintained their balance. Like it was the scramble drill Barksdale immediately shot up off the turf, hustled, and still nearly managed to come up with the play….. We close out with Elizabeth’s
Jalais Mendoza

Elizabeth | 2025

. The handful of snaps I saw Mendoza take he was mostly successful when running his routes, but was unfortunately paired up with quarterbacks who struggled to either get the ball out at the right time or effectively to him. Despite this I still feel as though Mendoza will benefit from ball tracking drills, as there was still an opportunity to come up with a few of those erratic passes.
