is an uncommitted running back who stands out as one of the most explosive players in the 2025 class. At 5’9” and 165 pounds, Mark consistently demonstrates his ability to break off significant gains, making him a constant home-run threat. His highlight tape is filled with plays where he accelerates past defenders, showing his elite burst and speed in the open field. His track background is evident, as he brings that same explosiveness and quickness to the football field.
What sets Mark apart as a runner is his decisiveness. He also has a knack for patience and follows his blocks, waiting for holes to develop. Once he sees an opening, he can explode through the gap and easily make defenders miss. His combination of vision, patience, and sudden acceleration makes him a difficult player for defenses to contain.
Mark has no offers but draws interest from schools like Marist and Fordham. As the transfer portal activity slows down and programs turn their attention to under-the-radar prospects, Mark has the skill set to find a home at the collegiate level. Whichever team takes a chance on him will get a running back who can flip the field instantly and bring a spark to their offense.

got better and better. Coincidingly, Union City attained more success each and every year. Boyd finishes his high school career as the school’s career leading rusher, the North V champion, and having finally beaten Union City’s boogey man, PCTI.
Boyd ran extraordinarily hard against a disciplined and physical Mariners defense. Boyd finished the game with 16 carries for 60 yards and 1 score, while also catching his only target for 6 yards and making 7 tackles.
Not lost in the game was his effort, grit, leadership and determination – all factors in which college coaches desire to see in a running back. For now, his 156 carries, 1515 yards, and 25 touchdowns set the Union City watermark for rushing yards with 3586 for his career on 408 carries with 53 scores.

- At full speed he can still find yet another gear; gets to full speed in about three steps
- Patient as a runner, waits for hole to clearly open up before accelerating through it; hits hole and runs track, will not deviate from it
- Subtle, smooth cuts are made to change direction; arm tackles simply fall off of him
- Routinely the first man downfield on kick off
- Willing down blocker and iso blocker (Wing-T offense), although not asked much to lead block
- Want to see him all over the formation, not just regulated to Wing

rushed 145 ties last year for 1098 yards and 13 touchdowns; he also added 5/57 through the air and score on a kickoff return. Foremost, arm tackles will not bring Boyd down. He is too strong an athlete to be taken down by grabbing, you must lay your shoulder into him. There are a few aspects to Boyd’s speed that need attention called do it. First, on much of Boyd’s highlights his linemen open gaping holes for him to run through, allowing him to showcase his top-end speed. Second, Body shows the ability to achieve top speed in about 3 steps after he either decelerates in the hole to make an over-pursing defender miss or shows his patience for the correct hole to open up. Speaking of which, discipline is a part of his game as well, as Boyd runs his track religiously and does not deviate from it. Lastly, as quickly as he is able to achieve top speed Boyd seems to be able to find yet another speed in the open field. On each clip when he was on kickoff, nobody on Union City beats him downfield as he is often the first hot man to the ball. As fast as he is, athleticism is and toughness are a part of his game too. Boyd makes very subtle, smooth cuts to change direction in the latter levels of the defense, while also utilizing the stiff arm, stutter step, and speed manipulation in the open field to gain a few extra yards. His toughness shows on film shows as he is not only a willing down blocker when on the wing, but also serving as a lead, iso blocker for his teammates. As explosive as he is and how he is the beneficiary of holes that part like the Red Sea, his film left me longing to see clips of him creating for his own and running between the tackles.

is set for a big senior year in 2024. With over 1000 yards on the ground and 13 touchdowns this past season, Mark is ready to step into a larger rolin Union City’s run attack. Mark is a great combination of speed and strength. With the ability to dart through massive running lanes without being touched, and also not afraid of contact in short yardage plays, Mark is only gaining more opportunities to shine as he enters his senior year. Union City has the ability to get past the semifinals in 2024 as long as they continue to feed Mark the rock.

is primed for a big game against Phillipsburg. Union City runs a ground based offense, giving Mark the ability to unleash his full potential. Mark is an all around great talent, with multiple skills that elevate him above his competition. A sharp cutter and a player that can run through arm tackles, Mark even has the speed to leave defenders in the dust behind him. Union City hasn’t lost since week 1, and will look for another big performance out of their lead running back this weekend in one of my favorite matchups of the season.
