Smiley measured in at 5'11 165, but flashed a big arm for a smaller QB that could stretch the field and could also rip it with high velocity on short and intermediate routes. The lefty gunslinger also posted quality testing numbers with a 4.9 40 and the second-best pro shuttle time of the camp with a 4.39. Smiley throws a very pretty ball with a tight spiral and was the most consistent quarterback in attendance throughout the day. He's an effortless thrower and did a nice job leading his receivers and hitting them in stride while also having accurate ball placement on his passes.rnrnAll of those traits show up on his u003ca href=u0022https://www.hudl.com/video/3/18873257/65e9e3d764e04105c47ca0e6u0022u003ejunior highlight tapeu003c/au003e where he posted a respectable 1,700 yards and 17 touchdowns season in 2023 in Pennsylvania's Class AA. Smiley was an unfamiliar name to me before the camp from covering WV, but he's an under-the-radar quarterback name to know in PA.","_player_evaluations_0_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_1_player":["1259785"],"_player_evaluations_1_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_1_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_1_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_1_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_1_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_1_evaluation":"2025 Weir QB [player_tooltip player_id='1259785' first='Lucas' last='McAllister'] was just as impressive as Smiley and stood out as one of the Top 2 quarterbacks in attendance. McAllister attended our PRZ WV Combine two weeks ago and he showed us again at Bethany's Prospect Camp why he made our Best of the Rest group at the Combine. He's flying under-the-radar right now after a one-year stint at Ohio power Steubenville but will be making his way back to the Mountain State at Weir High for his senior season. McAllister was another consistent passer throughout today's camp and threw with zip and accuracy. He showed off his athletic ability during testing with a sub-5-second 40 time, 4.6 pro shuttle, and a very good broad jump of 3+ yards. McAllister was primarily a pocket passer at Madonna but saw reps at DB at Steubenville so the athletic versatility is there to be a dual-threat quarterback if needed.rnrnHe's going to be a fun and intriguing prospect to watch this season after playing sparingly in 2023 and could quickly make his name known and out from under the radar with a strong senior year.","_player_evaluations_1_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_2_player":["894626"],"_player_evaluations_2_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_2_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_2_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_2_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_2_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_2_evaluation":"We like 2026 Brooke prospect [player_tooltip player_id='894626' first='Ty' last='Sperringer'] as an ATH, but he worked out as a QB at today's camp and did some good things at that spot. He's the type of athlete who can play any skill position on both sides of the ball as well but will likely be the Bruins' QB1 this fall after taking over for his big brother. As expected, Sperringer had one of the best 40 times of the day with a 4.84 which he could improve on with more practice reps. He had a strong pro shuttle time of 4.55 seconds as well as a 2+ yard broad jump which are both solid numbers for a rising junior. I thought Sperringer did a great job of taking in the coaching he was getting and applying it to future reps which saw immediate improvement in his performance. He did a nice job shaking off some missed throws and got better the further the camp went on from the tips and coaching he was receiving.rnrnSperringer is raw as a passer right now but should continue to make strides in that area of his game over the off-season since he can now solely focus on that position on offense after seeing time at WR/RB the past two years.","_player_evaluations_2_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_3_player":["1279024"],"_player_evaluations_3_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_3_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_3_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_3_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_3_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_3_evaluation":"2027 Wellsville quarterback Richie Wyse has a bright future for the Tigers and could be the catalyst that turns their program around. Although just a freshman, Wyse looks the part in person and is only going to continue to get better over the next three years. He's a good athlete for his age who plays faster in pads than his testing numbers showed and has the versatility to play other positions on the field. From watching his freshman film, you'd think he was primarily a run-threat option quarterback, but Wyse threw the ball well during the camp and showed he's also talented in that aspect of the position too. He showed his freshman experience at times but made more good throws than poor throws and got more comfortable as the camp went on.rnrnWyse finished the day strong during the routes on air portion of the camp with accurate passes at all levels of the route tree as well as showing he can push the ball downfield on go balls and deep posts. He'll be an under-the-radar prospect in Ohio's smallest classification, but Wyse has the opportunity to make his name known over the next three years if he continues the trajectory that he's on.","_player_evaluations_3_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations":4,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"preview","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-66492de192051"} /-->
