2027s That Will Make Strong, Early Impressions

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Class of 2027 is just starting to take shape. We have our initial rankings out at Prep Redzone WI, and a list of additions to that list is growing quickly. So we are going to go through that list of freshmen that will be added to highlight ones that will debut very highly and make early impressions on college coaches either this summer or when their sophomore seasons begin. That looks like it will continue with their current upper and underclassmen. One of those underclassmen is freshman WR [player_tooltip player_id='1282584' first='Landon' last='Kibbe']. Landon has a solid frame at 6'1u0022 175 lbs that is sure to continue to grow and fill out over the next three years. On tape he is a matchup nightmare. Landon repeatedly was able to create big plays simply with his noticeably superior straight-line speed. His long strides eat up yards in the open field as he beats pursuit angles. The freshman has also quickly developed impressive ball skills. We see him be able to adjust to the ball, go up and get it, or make catches in traffic through multiple hands. I'm excited to see how he looks this fall as a sophomore. Dom was able to make a good impact on the edge thanks to his athleticism. He doesn't the size to take on blocks on the edge, so he uses lateral agility, burst, and closing speed to avoid the traffic on his way to the tackle. The freshman demonstrated a high motor over and over too, chasing down plays all over the field. On offense we see glimpses of a well rounded RB. He has reliable hands and has solid elusiveness to make defenders miss. The motor and athleticism are at strong points early in Dorsey's career. One athlete who quickly caught my eyes is the 6'2u0022 260 lbs OL Harlem O'Quinn. Harlen is starting to build a great profile for an offensive tackle recruit. The size is there, his technique is consistent and effective, and his strength in the trenches is easy to see on tape. In the run game, Harlen gets on his man quickly and once he gets hands on he is able to move his opponent wherever he wants. We also see a lot of double teams, and that is simply unfair for his opponent as he drives his man 10 yards downfield. As his body control continues to improve and he begins to implement more leverage to his game Harlen will only get more and more dominant. He has soft hands and will attack the ball at the high point. He has good speed to stretch the field from inline or out wide. The 6'1u0022 195 lbs RB is an intriguing prospect to watch. He has a well balanced game and the strong, sturdy frame to handle the physicality of Friday nights early in his career. Between the tackles Jax shows the contact balance to be able to absorb hits and the leg drive to be able to run through hits on his lower body. Once he hits green grass he has enough speed already to create the big chunk plays. Pesch is just scratching the surface on what he is going to be. Henry has a prototypical DE frame that you see on potential D1 prospects. He checks in at 6'5u0022 220 lbs with plenty of time and space on his frame to get much bigger. At this point we have to wait and see how he grows and develops to know if his future is at OT or DE. On tape Henry brings a huge size and strength mismatch to the field. He is able to reset the line of scrimmage downfield as a run blocker. He does a really good job staying square on his man and not falling off his block once he locks on. At DE he is able to win with power to collapse the pocket, or he has decent speed to run the loop around the edge to the QB. Henry is an athlete to get on your boards early.
