Last week, the announcement was made for which Student-Athletes were on the All Western New York Teams. The categories are broken up into Large Schools & Small Schools. With each section receiving a 1st Team All WNY and a 2nd Team All WNY. Today, I am going to discuss the underclassmen who made 1st Team All WNY (Small Schools). This is a great group of football players that I think will continue to make an impact on their program.

All the while leading CSP to a 10-0 record in Section VI and a Class D Championship. Tate is a dual threat Quarterback. In both his Sophomore and Junior seasons, he was second on the team in rushing with a career stat line of 154 carries for 954 yards and 16 touchdowns. Catanese is a phenomenal athlete with tremendous accuracy and is only getting better. 2024 looks promising for CSP as QB [player_tooltip player_id='648989' first='Tate' last='Catanese'], along with his #1 target and fellow 1st Team All Western New Yorker, WR [player_tooltip player_id='451481' first='Bryce' last='Hinsdale'], will be Seniors and look to expand on the success they had as Juniors.","_player_evaluations_0_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_1_player":["807029"],"_player_evaluations_1_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_1_override_profile_image":["override_image"],"_player_evaluations_1_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_1_player_featured_image":1262149,"_player_evaluations_1_player_featured_image":"field_62f141137ead9","player_evaluations_1_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_1_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_1_evaluation":"Maryvale's 9-1 season rode on the back (or the legs) of workhorse runner, [player_tooltip player_id='807029' first='Brayden' last='Tryon']. It seemed that every time Tryon got the football in 2023, he scored. Tryon ran for 1,214 yards on just 123 carries and 24 touchdowns. Brayden also added 3 kick returns for touchdowns on just 7 attempts. On average, he scored every 5 times he touched the ball. Brayden runs with purpose, he has power and extraordinary balance. He has excellent vision and his patience when running behind his blockers is second to none. Not to mention his blazing speed (12 of his touchdowns were 40 yards or longer, including 6 that were 70+). I'm an old school guy so I would be amiss if I didn't mention what I love most about this young man; no matter how great the run was or outstanding the touchdown was, Tyron gave the ball to the ref, didn't say a word and did it again. 2023 put Tryon on the WNY map. He should be in the Connolly Cup conversation as a Senior in 2024.","_player_evaluations_1_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_2_not_in_database":["not_in_db"],"_player_evaluations_2_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_2_player_details_selected_featured_image":1122666,"_player_evaluations_2_player_details_selected_featured_image":"field_62cca28ffa4e7","player_evaluations_2_player_details_player_name":"[player_tooltip player_id='1212861' first='Warrick' last='Kyler']","_player_evaluations_2_player_details_player_name":"field_62aba4c9ecf2f","player_evaluations_2_player_details_graduating_class":"2025","_player_evaluations_2_player_details_graduating_class":"field_62aba4ddecf30","player_evaluations_2_player_details_height":"6'5u0022","_player_evaluations_2_player_details_height":"field_62aba4e8ecf31","player_evaluations_2_player_details_weight":"","_player_evaluations_2_player_details_weight":"field_65b288425ecf6","player_evaluations_2_player_details_position":"2405","_player_evaluations_2_player_details_position":"field_62aba4f0ecf32","player_evaluations_2_player_details_school":"Salamanca High School","_player_evaluations_2_player_details_school":"field_62aba4fdecf33","player_evaluations_2_player_details_club_team":"","_player_evaluations_2_player_details_club_team":"field_62d20e723441a","player_evaluations_2_player_details":"","_player_evaluations_2_player_details":"field_62aba4afecf2e","player_evaluations_2_evaluation":"The Class C Champion, Salamanca Warriors' Offensive Line was anchored by Offensive Tackle, [player_tooltip player_id='1212861' first='Warrick' last='Kyler']. He made the most of them returning 4 kicks for 282 yards (70.5 Avg) and 2 touchdowns. That is not to say Hill does not belong on this list. In fact, Isaiah had a fantastic year in his first full season on Varsity. The Sophomore was a great complimentary back to Tryon posting 67 carries for 666 yards and 9 TDs. On defense, Hill worked as a hybrid LB/DB racking up 41 tackles (16 for loss), a sack, 3 forced fumbles and 2 INTs, one of which was returned for a 46 yard touchdown. [player_tooltip player_id='1208769' first='Isaiah' last='Hill'] possesses superb football instincts and fantastic speed that will be a nightmare for opposing teams in the next two season. Maryvale fell one game short of reaching the Section VI Championship game in 2023 but if they can build off this last campaign, they can win their first title since 1985.","_player_evaluations_3_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_4_player":["806443"],"_player_evaluations_4_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_4_override_profile_image":["override_image"],"_player_evaluations_4_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_4_player_featured_image":1122693,"_player_evaluations_4_player_featured_image":"field_62f141137ead9","player_evaluations_4_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_4_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_4_evaluation":"Standing at 6'4 324 lbs, Ikegwuonu truly plays like a man amongst boys. Sam has been a wrecking machine at Defensive Tackle since his Freshmen year. After combining for 76 tackles (4 for loss) and 2.5 sacks in his first two season, Sam blew up his Junior year racking up 98 tackles (24 for loss) and 6 sacks. Along with 1 forced fumble and a fumble recovery, he showed fantastic athleticism bringing in 2 interceptions and blocking a punt. He is strong and powerful and Offensive Guards got tired just from trying to block him. With his tenacity and determination, [player_tooltip player_id='806443' first='Sam' last='Ikegwuonu'] could have easily made All WNY as an Offensive Linemen.
