We are going to highlight several Arkansas football recruits that have made some recruiting news over the weekend. Several recruits made visits, received scholarship offers, and placed commitments over the long weekend.
Marcus Wimberly Marcus Wimberly 6'1" | 170 lbs | DB Bauxite | 2025 State AR -Defensive Back-Bauxite-2025
Marcus Wimberly Marcus Wimberly 6'1" | 170 lbs | DB Bauxite | 2025 State AR is one of the most athletic recruits lurking in the secondary in the class of 2025. Numerous schools including Michigan, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Alabama have been competing for his commitment recently. Wimberly uses his speed and instincts well to disrupt opposing passing attacks. He times the hits on opposing wide receivers in impressive fashion. Over the weekend, Wimberly placed his commitment with the Oklahoma Sooners. I look for him to have a strong senior season for the Miners this upcoming season.
Noah Wendel Noah Wendel 6'2" | 225 lbs | DL Valley View | 2026 AR -Linebacker-Valley View-2026
Valley View is doing an excellent job of producing talented players on the defensive side of the ball. Wendel has impressive speed and can go sideline to sideline. He pursues the ball carrier well and has no problem getting into the offensive backfield. Wendel is able to drop back into pass coverage and cause problems for the opponent’s passing attack. He is a linebacker that opened eyes over the weekend at the Harding University football camp.

Over the past few seasons, Gurdon’s Bradyn King Bradyn King 6'2" | 290 lbs | OL Gurdon | 2025 State AR has been one of the most consistent offensive linemen in the state of Arkansas. King is a powerful offensive lineman with impressive quickness. He explodes out of the stance and gets into the opposing defensive lineman in the blink of an eye. King uses his hands well and can drive defenders out of the picture. The Gurdon offensive lineman displayed his ability to the Harding coaching staff over the weekend. He is a prospect to keep an eye on this upcoming season.

One prospect in the class of 2026 that is blowing up from a recruiting perspective is Jakore Smith Jakore Smith 6'1" | 190 lbs | LB Little Rock Parkview | 2026 State AR . The Little Rock Parkview linebacker has great speed and defeats blocks in impressive fashion. He has the speed to disrupt both the rushing and the passing attacks of the opponent. Over the weekend, Smith earned scholarship offers from Alabama and the University of Tennessee. He is a major target to watch out for over the next couple of seasons.

Tyler Ridley Tyler Ridley 6'1" | 235 lbs | OL Newport | 2025 State AR is an offensive lineman that has impressive quickness out of the stance. He gets into the opposing defender quickly and he has the power to overwhelm opposing defensive linemen. Ridley does a great job of clearing a rushing lane. He looks to find a defender to block at the second level. Ridley had an impressive performance at Harding University over the weekend as well. He is a player to watch out for over the next few months for Newport.
