I will provide a detailed breakdown of the same footage so you can follow along. This is an excellent opportunity for any athlete in Oregon to get recognized, as I am willing to write about anyone who reaches out. There will be five athletes in each post until I finish the list!
There is a lot of talent to work with here. The athleticism and speed are there; you can see it on tape. As a sophomore, he looks like he belongs out there on the varsity team. I would not be able to tell he was a sophomore just by looking at him. With Ty, the little things to take your game to the next level need work. The vision at running back could be better; the tackling could be cleaner, the pressing technique could use some work, etc. Ty could be a great player, and he is better than most players his age, so I am excited to see him develop and see what he looks like by the time he graduates.
Anthony Ferris
Anthony Ferris
Anthony is a great team player on the football field, a true asset to any squad. Despite his slight frame, he demonstrates a commendable willingness to block. His solid speed and exceptional performance as a special teamer are qualities that North Salem will sorely miss.
I don’t know where the weakness is in the film. Angel is a fantastic player; he was one of the main reasons Mountain View ended up in the state championship game when nobody thought that was possible at the start of the season. With Angel, the physicality is an A, the stop and start ability is an A, running between the tackles is an A, the vision is an A, making people miss is an A, and there is probably more that is an A. Angel is an absolute joy to watch as a pure running back, and the season he had as a sophomore is almost unbelievable. I am so excited to watch him for his junior and senior years.
Highlights
Sandy has once again developed another hard-nosed stud. The physicality with Caden stood out to me most, especially as a sophomore. He looked like a senior out there, which excited me to see what he would look like this season and next. As someone who grew up playing Sandy my whole life as a Centennial alum, I know this kid and the rest of the Sandy squad will be hitting the weight room hard this offseason. Caden is a kid who I could see being one of the better players in the state within the next two years.
Highlights
We have covered a couple QB’s on these film reviews, this is the best QB film I have seen so far. I say this because Ben plays in the toughest conference in Oregon by far. Knowing the kind of competition Ben was playing each week and still putting out this film is very impressive. He shows the touch on his throws; he can put some velocity on the ball when needed, he has a pretty throwing motion, and he has the ability to escape the pocket and either throw on the run or take off and get some solid yards. I am very impressed with his film, and I will be shocked if he doesn’t end up playing college football somewhere.
