2026 Preview: Eagle Point Eagles

Let's be honest, 6A football gets plenty of attention, so this series is all about shining a light on the outstanding players, coaches, and programs throughout Oregon's smaller classifications. Over the summer, I reached out to head coaches across the state to learn more about their teams heading into the season. These previews are built using their insight, giving fans a look at each program's expectations, players to watch, and goals for 2026. Every article is based on the coaches who took the time to respond, helping tell the story of their program.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading {"level":1} --> <h1 class="wp-block-heading">2026 Eagle Point Eagles</h1> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Eagle Point Eagles enter the 2026 season looking to build off a challenging 1-8 campaign a year ago. Competing in Special District 5, Eagle Point will feature a young but experienced core that has already logged plenty of varsity snaps. Head coach Erik Johnson noted that one of the biggest positives this offseason has been the increased buy-in from the program, with a much-improved summer training period and team camp setting the tone for the months ahead. Any freshman who earns varsity snaps at quarterback is worth keeping an eye on, and his experience should pay dividends as he continues to develop over the next few seasons.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Eagles may be one of the younger teams in Special District 5, but they also return a surprising amount of varsity experience at several key positions. With improved offseason participation and a roster filled with players who have already been battle-tested on Friday nights, Eagle Point will look to carry that momentum into the 2026 season as they continue building toward the future. Eagle Point begins its season on August 28th, hosting Yreka High School (CA).</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
