This article will overview some young defensive linemen in Ontario most of these guys are featured on Team Ontario’s U16 team and their tape comes from different seasons/opponent levels. Some guys have tape from their high school seasons while some are taken from the OSFL or play with their Provincial teams.
The bottom line with these guys is that they are some of the most intriguing defensive line prospects in Ontario and have tape to back that up, additionally they all showcase solid or better measurables at the position at a young age with lots of football less to play.
Tayshaun Duncan Tayshaun Duncan 6’2″ | 230 lbs | DL S. W. Laurier | 2026 CAD is a big EDGE prospect who plays for S.W. Laurier/London Jr Mustangs/Team Ontario. Duncan plays mostly as a DE/Edge who lines up in a 2-point stance, there are some reps of him playing a FB or H-Back position offensively but his tape shows a quality DE prospect. His tape playing for the London Jr Mustangs shows a player whose frame at 6’2 230lbs helps him set the edge and win with strength and power at the point of attack. Duncan Duncan does a good job of finishing plays showing the ability to tackle in space and is consistent in wrapping up ball carriers. If Duncan can continue to develop explosive movements in his game he will continue to be a force against the run.

Braydon Thompson Braydon Thompson 6’4″ | 220 lbs | DL Corpus Christi | 2026 CAD has a long lean frame and the Corpus Christi defensive end uses his length and hand placement to be a solid run defender coming off the edge. Thompson utilizes his length to keep offensive linemen from getting inside and can leverage that hand usage into shedding blocks and finishing plays around the line of scrimmage. Thompson’s best tape comes as a pass rusher where his burst off the ball and motor to find the Quarterback lead to lots of reps impacting the quarterback. Thompson shows the ability to bend and get upfield on a speed rush but also does a good job of using his length as a tool in his solid bull rush. Thompson shows some good reps and if he continues to develop his pass rush plan, he will become an even more effective sack-artist.

Brett Proudfoot Brett Proudfoot 6’4″ | 230 lbs | DL Nepean Public | 2026 CAD is another defensive end prospect who utilizes good size and length to be an impactful defender off the edge. Proudfoot plays with a good motor and has good burst and change of direction skills. He is solid with his hands at the point of attack and is always a threat to knock down passes and get his hands in the quarterback-throwing lane. Proudfoot is often making plays on tape chasing guys from behind and that motor not only help him finish plays but also clean up ball carriers when his teammates have a grasp on a runner. Proudfoot can continue to develop more moves as a pass rusher, and his length and burst will make him a dangerous pass rusher.

Highlights
Isaac Kalubi Lukuni Isaac Kalubi Lukuni 6’2″ | 260 lbs | DL Monsignor Paul Dwyer | 2026 CAD has a ton of film from his time with Team Ontario this past year and the defensive tackle checks off multiple boxes of a prospect who can play at the next level. Kalubi Lukuni has good upfield burst and shows impressive quickness and change of direction. He is strong at the point of attack and has a strong lower half helping him hold his ground against double teams. As a pass rusher, Kalubi Lukuni often wins with his quickness and low pad level while he utilizes his ability to bend to finish the quarterback. Kalubi Lukuni does a good job of getting into the backfield and has some impressive athleticism traits, if he can become a more consistent finisher against the run he will continue to round out his game and showcase why he is one of the most impressive interior defensive linemen in Ontario.

Another big-time defensive end prospect from Corpus Christi Garrett Scott Garrett Scott 6’4″ | 230 lbs | DL Corpus Christi | 2026 CAD at 6’4 230 is quick and strong off the edge. Scott displays impressive bend in the pass rush and shows the ability to get around the outside shoulder of offensive tackles and close and finish on the quarterback. Scott shows the ability to hold the edge against the run and shed blocks in space but a lot of his tape is pass-rush reps and Scott does a good job of finishing his pass-rush. Scott plays with a developed pass rush plan, there is a clear move in every pass rush. His go-to is a speed rush around the edge but he showcases a solid bull rush and the occasional rip move inside. Scott is a really solid pass rusher with one of the most developed pass rush skillsets in Ontario.
