Prep Redzone has the details…
Zion Johnson Zion Johnson 5'9" | 175 lbs | RB Newton | 2025 State GA – Newton
One of the best backs not only in the Atlanta area, but across the state in the 2025 class, Johnson is a power-five caliber back who scored touchdowns consistently throughout his junior season last fall. An electric back who can elude defenders anywhere on the field, Johnson is coming off a terrific junior season where he rushed for 1,647 yards and 19 touchdowns, adding one more touchdown as a receiver, giving him 20 on the season, the most among 7A junior running backs last year. He ran for at least 100 yards in nine games last year while rushing for 200 yards in the first two games of the season. In total, the Covington native ran for at least 140+ yards in seven of his 11 games last fall and will likely find the endzone even more as a senior for the Rams this fall. He’s ranked by Prep Redzone as the No. 56 overall prospect in the state.
Josiah Allen Josiah Allen 5'10" | 190 lbs | RB Wheeler | 2025 State GA – Wheeler
A speedy Cobb County back who is starting to see his recruitment take off, Allen found the end-zone as much as any back in the area and across 7A last year among backs in the 2025 class. A natural runner at 5-foot-10 190-pounds, Allen shows strong footwork, excellent burst, and impressive vision, allowing him to find a hole and sneak through it. As a junior last fall, this Wheeler back rushed for 1,082 yards and 14 touchdowns, averaging an impressive 7.2 yards per rush along the way. He’s a weapon in the passing game as well as he caught 31 passes for 294 yards and two more touchdowns, giving him 16 total scores on the season. A terrific open-field runner, Allen is always looking to score, and he should do plenty of it again as a senior in 2024. He’s currently ranked as the No. 103 overall prospect in the state by Prep Redzone.
Ramsey Dennis Ramsey Dennis 5'10" | 175 lbs | RB Colquitt County | 2025 State GA – Colquitt County
A sleeper South Georgia running back still flying under the radar, Dennis is a shifty, balanced runner with swift feet, natural vision, and the ability to run through tackles for extra yards. One of the more talented 2025 backs in the area, Dennis is coming off a fantastic junior season where he rushed for a team-leading 982 yards and 14 touchdowns in 12 games. When Dennis had the ball, good things happened as he averaged an impressive 7.3 yards per carry. He helped carry the load for one of the top 7A programs across the state and should be even better as a senior in 2024. This 5-foot-10 175-pounder is always looking to score, and he did it a lot in 2023. IF he continues to improve and see more carries come his way in the fall, look for him to light up the stat sheet and find the end-zone often later this year.
