Knapp is coming off a career year in his Junior season for one of the top programs in northern California. He is a very mobile pocket passer that can step up and deliver the ball downfield while also able to throw on the run and throw across his body across the field as well. He has a quick release where the ball jumps out of his hand, and is extremely mobile when evading pressure while keeping his eyes downfield when moving through his progressions. Knapp shows he can zip the ball into tight windows, and puts nice touch on it over the top while throwing receivers open and leading them away from defenders. He is seemingly comfortable throwing both to his left and right, and across the field on outbreaking routes which is very impressive. Knapp also displays he can make off-platform throws when under pressure, and seems to have full command of the offense. Look for Knapp to be one of the top signal callers in the WCAL this Fall, and should be closing in on his first college offer.
Harris is all of 6’5″ and has impressed at multiple stops this off-season, and took home positional MVP Honors at the National Preps Showcase earlier this Spring. He has a strong arm downfield and throws a tight spiral while able to put nice air underneath it and fit the ball into tight windows while throwing his receivers open. He shows solid pocket mobility while able to feel out pressure and step up, while not afraid to take s shot in order to deliver it. He also shows he can throw on the run when rolling out and across his body without losing much zip on the ball, and is not afraid to check it down and throw underneath. Having ideal size for the position and better than expected movement abilities, he should see his recruiting stock continue to rise through his Senior season.
Highlights
Hale is a dual-threat signal caller that runs the option offense for the Herd, and in the right system would be a very nice fit at the next level. He is a high IQ kid that runs the option offense extremely well and shows he is dangerous with the ball in his hands. He is explosive through the first level while able to weave through traffic and evade tacklers in tight windows before hitting the open field, where he shows a third level gear. He has the frame to be able to pack on more weight which will help him at the next level, but his combination of athleticism, open field speed and short area twitch with the ability to throw on the run makes him an intriguing option quarterback prospect. Look for Hale to put up some big time numbers in the SJS this Fall.
