I was locked in to the 15U division and will have several team reports, featuring their top performers this week. We’re continuing the coverage today with a look at the CT-Prime squad from the New England area.
CT-Prime would go 2-1 on Saturday and looked like a team that could go on a run when Sunday’s bracket play began. They lost a tough first round game against fellow New England program in the Outlawz but they still had a good weekend with a lot of reps. And as a program overall, it was a really strong tournament. The 18U team would end up winning that division’s championship on Saturday. Below, we take a look at three of the standouts from their team this weekend.
Brevin Gonzales – 2027 Quarterback
CT-Prime would play two quarterbacks throughout the weekend and the first one that stood out to us was 2027 signal caller Brevin Gonzales. Taking a look back at our notes, Gonzales impressed us right from the jump in their first game of the tournament. He had a strong performance and a lot of it had to do with his strong arm. He was throwing the ball all over the yard and helped lead his team to an early lead as they coasted to the win. He had a good start and it really set the tone for what would be a very successful day for CT-Prime on Saturday.
Makiye Howard – 2026 Athlete
2026 athlete Makiye Howard was one of our favorite two-way players to watch in the 15U division this weekend. Simply put, Howard looked the part physically and performed at a high level on both sides of the ball. On offense, Howard made plenty of plays that turned heads this weekend and then he turned around and was an absolute star on the defensive side of the ball. If we had to pick one side over the other in terms of where Howard shined brightest, we would probably lean to defense but he was your prototypical standout on both sides of the ball.
Tyrome Stevenson – 2027 Wide Receiver
We were told about 2027 wide receiver Tyrome Stevenson coming into the weekend and he certainly lived up to the hype, specifically on Saturday. Stevenson wasn’t the biggest wide receiver out there on Saturday and Sunday but he definitely play bigger than his size. Every time we watched Stevenson and CT-Prime, it felt like he was always open. He didn’t always get the ball but he always felt open. And then what really impressed us were the catches he made when he wasn’t open. He made several contested catches look easy throughout the weekend.
