It was a cool cloudy day where prospects from all over New England gathered to showcase there talents in front of our staff of scouts and college coaches. In this article I will preview my top 3 Running Backs & Top 2 Defensive Backs that attended this event.
Ethan Hudson Ethan Hudson 5’10” | 185 lbs | RB Norwalk | 2025 New E is a 2025 Running Back who plays at Norwalk High School in Connecticut. He measures in at 5’10” and 187 pounds. Ethan had some first class testing scores to take note of. Most impressively his 40 yard dash time which was confirmed at 4.5 seconds and was first amongst all attendees. His Broad Jump finished in the top two at the showcase falling just shy of 10 feet by an inch. His 5-10-5 shuttle was confirmed at 4.38 seconds which was top five. His long arms proves to give some hope that he could possibly have some more room to grow into his body. That could be something to pay close attention to as he already has the measurables both physically and athletically to catch interest from coaches. Adding some more height to his frame with the speed he possesses would only solidify him even more as D-1 prospect. During the 1 on 1 portion of the showcase he showed off his ability to come out the backfield and prove he can be a threat catching the ball. He caught every ball thrown his way with his hands. One of the more notable things i witnessed from him on the day was him receive some coaching on his route running and then apply what he was taught the next rep. He proved his ability to be coachable. He is a solid D-1 prospect. I have Ethan as my top ranked running back at this showcase.

Jalen Morris Jalen Morris 5’6″ | 150 lbs | ATH The Rivers School | 2027 State New E is a class of 2027 running back that plays at The Rivers School in Weston, Massachusetts. He measured in at 5’6″ and 151 pounds. I had Jalen as my number two running back and very arguably could have been number one. He tested in the top five in the 5-10-5 shuttle run at the combine with a 4.35 second shuttle. Jalen seem to have quick feet and a nice burst in and out of cuts witnessed in the running back stations. During the 1 on 1 portion against the linebackers he ran routes out the backfield and from the slot, he was often a mismatch against his defenders because of his speed. He ran a confirmed 4.78 second 40 yard dash. With a few years ahead of himself for more bone and muscle growth development he is going to surely be a prospect to keep an eye on through this process.

Lincoln is 5’8″ and 150 pound running back who plays at Belmont High School in Massachusetts. He seems to be a long 5’8″ with some room to fill into his frame. He ran a 4.5 second shuttle run at the combine. During his running back station his effort, lateral quickness and burst stood out to me most. His feet are always moving, a great quality for a running backs. He is undersized now but has time to develop physically still to solidify himself as solid running back recruit. Wish i could have seen more from him but he had to leave early but i would definitely say he left a long lasting impression on me to want to see more of him this fall season.

Jayden Francois is a class of 2025 Athlete that attends Quincy High School in Massachusetts. He stands 5’10” tall and weighs 147 pounds. Jayden was lights out in the combine testing finishing in 1st place amongst all attendees in everything but the 40 yard dash. His 40 yard dash time was confirmed at 4.75 seconds. His 5-10-5 shurttle was 4.2 seconds. Broad jump was 9’11.5″ and his L-Cone drill was 7.34 seconds. I had Jayden as my number one Defensive Back at this event. During DB drills he prove to have good balance in his back peddle and excellent Ball & Reaction Skills. Has good hips, very fluid when opening up and running. He was also chosen as a top performer for the wide receiver position. One of the best things I observed was him leave the Wide Receiver group and come to the Defensive Back group because he said he wants to prove his dynamic ability. That he 100 percent did. Made plays in 1 on 1’s no matter what side of the ball he lined up. I would definitely want to dive deeper into this prospect. He has some measurables that can align him with the division 1 level if he adds some weight on. Very high on this kid a sleeper in my eyes he was not known in our PRZ New England database prior to this event.

Tyreek Fernandes Tyreek Fernandes New E is Defensive Back for Brockton High school in Massachusetts. He measured in at 5’11″and 156 pounds. Although still a bit underweight I personally seen Tyreek at a 7v7 event last summer and cant believe how much he has filled out in one year. He was very undersized just a year ago but seems to be filling in now fast. I actually commented this to him on the field the day of the showcase. Tyreek is very comfortable in his back peddle and this was witnessed in his Defensive Back stations. He showed some tightness in his hips but for the most part had a smooth transition to opening his hips up and running. He was attacking the ball at its highest point on every rep. During 1 on 1’s he was played good man to man coverage showing his ability to get physical with receivers at the line of scrimmage. I would like to see how much more weight he can add to his frame because that might be only thing keeping him from being considered a college football prospect at any level right now.
