BROOKYLN PARK, MINN-- We waste no time diving in from Brooklyn Park at the Prep Redzone NEXT Minnesota Combine, as we debut Part II of our list of standouts. Each athlete on this list impressed with their athleticism for their age and I also was impressed with the character I saw today at our combine as Minnesota is full of young studs to keep tracking over the coming years!

An impressive wide receiver today hailing from the South Metro was Apple Valley's [player_tooltip player_id='1239133' first='Lyman' last='Myers']. Lyman showed off a good sized frame for his age at 5'8 155 pounds and backed up and showed off what his athletic skillsets looked like when I watched him consistently today in Brooklyn Park. The most impressive skillset Lyman brought to my attention to today with his instincts he showed with his first step as I thought his natural skills he possessed a great tone for starting to get early separation on his routes. A route-runner to watch in the coming years in the Eagles program.

One of favorites at running back from our scouts across the board today was Cambridge-Isanti's [player_tooltip player_id='607918' first='Knox' last='Andrus']. The 5'10 running back showed great dexterity with his athleticism he possesses which was really sound for his age. He was a prospect in testing that you can tell already has a developing football IQ that is only going to continue to grow over the coming years. You could gauge too Knox's love for the game of football as he was constantly uplifting his teammates throughout the camp and has the looks of a potential future captain for the Blue Jackets based on his character. I'll be impressed to see how well Knox meshes in Cambridge-Isanti offense in the coming years, as I think too this kid could see both ends of the field based based on that football IQ I mentioned.

There was sound quarterback play today at the Prep Redzone NEXT Minnesota Combine, and another gunslinger that popped out early to be was Irondale's [player_tooltip player_id='1074478' first='Wehso' last='Cooper']. He was another kid that passed the early eye test as I was highly impressed with his build and how it translates to possible posistion flexibility too in the future. Wehso showed off some swift agility within his early testing drills as well and each step I watched him take at multiple testing stations the fluidity certainly appeared. Later in the session, I was impressed with Wehso in 1v1s, as his he showed off a quick release and I thought showed off some excellent touch for his age on intermediate and deep routes. With those throws, he also showed off some upside with his precision as well. Seems like there is a bright future for this young man out of Irondale.

It was easy to tell who the DB MVP was at our Prep Redzone NEXT Minnesota Combine as that was Lakeville North's Zion Davis. Zion was a technician that showed off well-tuned footwork that I watched with Indy drills as he showed off great attention to detail as well from my eyes. It was the tightness in his backpedal and his downhill steps to the ball that showed off the gifted football IQ Zion has. Zion also has good body type for his age and sound character that impressed me today in Brooklyn Park. I hope Zion can follow the tree of Lakeville North greats at defensive back as one that I am sure I will see on the 7v7 circuit too this summer with Minnesota Go Get It.

Yet another Apple Valley wide receiver that caught my attention today was 5'10 145 pound [player_tooltip player_id='1655359' first='Jeffrey' last='Noah'] who showed off some good upside to grow. What popped out most was his 1v1 reps, as I thought this young man showed more length in his arms than I expected with his measurables as he showed off his stretchy arms to go up get the ball with his vertical too. I know as a former hoops scout for Prep Hoops that the translation from the hardwood to the gridrion posistions well as a wide receiver, as I will be tracking the upside of this kid over the next several years.
