Continuing my coverage of the first-ever Minnesota PRZ Next Showcase, we have returning middle schoolers who impressed me throughout the day. These 29s/30s or current 7th/6th graders showed out and got a great start to their recruiting last Sunday!

Earl Carter 5' 110 lbs WR Jackson Middle School 2030

Carter may not be the biggest prospect, but early on in his athletic career, he has already demonstrated a strong enthusiasm for the game of football and a ton of coachability. It can be nerve-racking to be first in line for every single event, but Carter despite being one of the youngest prospects there took that challenge by the horns. He was attentive and competitive, two traits that will serve him well in the future.

Samuel Lamey 5'3" 110 lbs WR Oakland Middle School 2030

1/2 of a pair of twins who hail from Stillwater Minnesota, Sam Lamey was a well-spoken and impressionable pass-catcher who caught my eye early on. His effort during the physical testing portion of the combine was phenomenal. When he was competing in the Individual and one-on-one portions of the combine, Lamey was competitive and showed off his talents when running shorter routes.

Joseph Lamey 5'3" 110 lbs QB Oakland Middle School 2030

The other half of the Lamey twins, Joe Lamey was one of the if not the best QB who would be back in middle school next year. His arm is far stronger than many of his counterparts, and he consistently puts a nice spiral on the pigskin when it flies from his hands. The lefty can sling it, but I'd be remiss if I didn't mention how impressionable he was as well. He too is someone to track closely over the following years.

[player_tooltip player_id='1258054' first='Kimoni' last='Mixon'] 6'2" 180 lbs WR/DB Osseo Middle School 2029

A 6'2" frame in 7th grade is extremely noteworthy and Mixon immediately turned eyes. He's still growing into his body, but he possesses the framework to transform into a special athlete over his high school career. Mixon also has a very impressive wingspan, and his length provides him with a stellar catch radius. When he played DB he was able to provide tight coverage against a variety of wideouts. Mixon is a physically imposing athlete who could turn head over the next couple of years.

[player_tooltip player_id='1240820' first='Josiah' last='Ampey'] 5'7" 120 lbs RB Community of Saints 2029

Ampey showcased great lateral movement throughout the entirety of the combine, whether that be in the pro-agility drill or the L-drill. His explosiveness off the line when competing in drills is also extremely note-worthy. I was also impressed with his general agility and sense of balance. If Ampey continues to develop his speed and footwork while adding muscle to his frame, he could be a high-upside Twin Cities RB.

Connor Boyle 5'9" 170 lbs TE Rogers Middle School 2029

Boyle is built very well for a class of 2029 prospect. He may not have been the fastest prospect, but that 170 lbs is packed on with healthy muscle. While unfortunately, we didn't get to see him compete in run block drills, I do not doubt that with the right coaching, Boyle could manhandle opponents off of the line of scrimmage. Boyle exhibits raw talent that, with the right guidance and support, could blossom into a formidable force on the field.

Continuing my coverage of the first-ever Minnesota PRZ Next Showcase, we have returning middle schoolers who impressed me throughout the day. These 29s/30s or current 7th/6th graders showed out and got a great start to their recruiting last Sunday!
