Section I has continued to be one of the top producers of talent in New York, especially when you include the Catholic schools that reside in the area but play in the NYSCHFL. However, amongst the public schools, there is a lot of talent that ends up playing at the D3 and FCS levels, and prospects from schools that continue to showcase success are often recruited by some of the state’s college programs.
This article will overview some guys at “big skill” positions whose film is new to me. Excited to see how these prospects compete at camps throughout this summer and what they will put on film as Juniors and Seniors.
Offense
Out of Carmel, the 6’4 205lb Teddy Galbraith Teddy Galbraith 6’4″ | 215 lbs | TE Carmel | 2025 NY is one of the bigger tight ends in New York with his frame and length. Galbraith has the body to add weight and bulk but can play the traditional in-line tight end position for a Carmel team that relies heavily on their ability to run the ball between the tackles. Galbraith showcases the ability to utilize his length as a blocker. Galbraith showcases good hand placement as a blocker often landing inside the shoulders of defenders and does a really good job of sustaining blocks. Galbraith can also be an effective receiver on play action with a solid release, large catch radius, and what looks to be consistent hands. After watching his tape, no doubt that Galbraith is one of the top true in-line tight ends in the 2025 class.
Highlights
Jake Teitel Jake Teitel 6’3″ | 215 lbs | TE Clarkstown South | 2025 NY who may be more of an athlete than a player you box into one position showcases the ability to impact the game on both sides of the ball. At 6’3 215lbs he has the size that says tight end on offense but most of his reps come from a 2-point stance as a WR. Defensively, his size may say LB but his range and athleticism tell you safety. Teitel likely is one of those big Hybrid TE/WRs at the next level and it shows in his catch radius and ability to use his size and body to make plays at the catch point. Teitel showcases a good release off the LOS and has reliable hands as a target.
Walker Moore Walker Moore 6’5″ | 205 lbs | TE Bronxville | 2026 NY out of Bronxville already has the size that jumps off the screen at 6’5. Moore plays with his hands on the ground and showcases some impressive speed and movement skills for a player his size. Moore shows really good hand-eye coordination and is an impressive overall athlete. Although he needs to gain weight to play at the next level, Moore has time on his side and on film his ability to already put his hand in the ground and be an effective blocker with the willingness to block with effort and be physical at the point of attack are traits that will impress colleges coaches.

Defensive
Ryan Gilligan Ryan Gilligan 5’11” | 205 lbs | LB Scarsdale | 2025 NY who is a two-way player for Scarsdale, LB, and FB in a wing-t offense where he is used as a blocker and gets carries is one of the most well-rounded players in this list in terms of his impact on both sides of the ball. With fullbacks less and less prominent at the college level, I evaluated Gilligan’s ability as an LB and listed him under the defense part of this article. Gilligan reads the game well from the LB position and he showcases the ability to move downhill and evade and shed blocks. Some of his best work is down right around the LOS in traffic where he can use his quickness and quick feet to find and tackle ball carriers. Gilligan has some coverage reps where his closing speed and finishing ability in space make him a solid zone coverage linebacker.
Marco Marisi Marco Marisi 6’2″ | 200 lbs | LB Harrison | 2026 NY out of Harrison is another FB/LB prospect who projects at LB at the next level. Marisi has a good frame at 6’2 and was an extremely productive do-it-all LB for Harrison. Marisi showcases good burst and change of direction skills, he moves well in the open field and has the length to wrap guys up consistently. Marisi reads the game well and is effective in coverage reading the quarterback and covering his zone. Marisi showcases some versatility as a blitzer and can be impact the game against the run, in coverage, and rushing the passer. Marisi was a new name to me and is one of my favorite 2026 linebackers in the area.
Carsten Steinmann Carsten Steinmann 6’1″ | 210 lbs | LB Rye | 2026 NY was a really solid contributor to a state championship Rye ream and the LB prospect showcases the ability to play with physicality and did not show any signs of not being able to handle playing against varsity offensive lineman. Steinmann is not afraid to take on blockers and use his hands and strength to shed blocks. Steinmann does a good job of finishing tackles and can move laterally really well. Steinmann is still developing as an athlete but there was some intriguing tape and production as one of the few underclassmen who contributed to a state championship team.
