With that being said, I wanted to highlight some players at each position that deserve and are still seeking their first college offer. After already covering the quarterbacks, running backs, and wide receivers, here are some tight ends in the class of 2025 in the state of Missouri that still need offers.
Kyle Cotton Kyle Cotton 6’2″ | 245 lbs | TE St. Charles West | 2025 State MO is a player that has been high on my radar for a while now and continued to impress this past season. He played a huge role in the St. Charles West passing game, finishing the year with 29 receptions for 422 yards and three touchdowns in 11 games. Cotton has shown the versatility to line up both as a true tight end and out wide at receiver where he has the speed to pose as a threat in the deep passing game. He is also dangerous after the catch, showing the ability to use his speed, strength, and elusiveness to turn short passes into big gains. Kyle surprisingly hasn’t reported much college interest but he is definitely a player that coaches should keep a close eye on heading into his senior year.
Zayne Schellenger Zayne Schellenger 6’6″ | 220 lbs | TE De Smet | 2025 State MO is a player that caught my attention when reviewing film from this past season. He is a big, physical tight end that was mainly used as a blocker last season. Zayne does a great job of driving his feet through contact to create movement off the line of scrimmage and has also shown the ability to pick up blocks in open space. When targeted in the passing game, he has shown reliable hands and the ability to get up the field to pick up extra yards. I expect that first offer to come Zayne’s way soon as he has received a good amount of college interest and has the talent to play at the next level.
Braden James Braden James 6’5″ | 230 lbs | TE Pembroke Hill | 2025 State MO is another tight end that stood out to me this past season. He played a key role in the Pembroke Hill passing game this past season. James is a dangerous vertical threat, showing the ability to use his speed to blow by opposing defenders. He also has a very high catch radius, showing the ability to use his athleticism to go up and catch passes at their highest point, even in tight coverage. James is also a skilled route runner, using smooth breaks in his routes to create separation. I wouldn’t be surprised to see some offers come Braden’s way soon as he has received some college interest and has the talent to play at the next level.
Highlights
My final tight end in this series is Aaron McGhee Aaron McGhee 6’5″ | 220 lbs | TE Lee’s Summit North | 2025 State MO from Lee’s Summit North. McGhee is at his best as a blocker, showing the ability to wall off his man to create a running lane. He also does a great job of driving his feet through contact to create movement off the line of scrimmage. In the passing game, McGhee has the speed to stretch the field and has very reliable hands regardless of what type of coverage is around him. I could see some offers coming Aaron’s way in the near future as he has received some college interest and has the talent to play somewhere at the next level.
