This just proves that you can find talent just about anywhere in Michigan! Here are five standout players from the Charter School Silver League.
’25 DE | Davair McCrimon | Mevlindale | Twitter
6’6″ 220
First up is a super intriguing defensive end from Melvindale. His size almost makes plays for him as he’s able to consistently get in the QBs throwing lane for some easy tipped passes. He’s forced several turnovers by just getting in the quarterbacks face. Davair is also able to speed by some linemen and he’s a solid pass rusher. He needs work with general explosiveness if he wants to make a name for himself this coming season.
’25 RB | King Allen | Melvindale | Hudl
5’11” 200
King is a solid running back for Melvindale. He excels most when he’s able to bounce it outside before he finds a hole and accelerates upfield. He’s not the fastest or most athletic running back, but he knows how to evade tackles and run north-south once there’s a hole. For next season, King should prioritize speed training and lower-body strength.
’27 LB | Kaleb McNea Kaleb McNea 6'0" | 220 lbs | LB Melvindale | 2027 MI | Melvindale | Hudl
6’0″ 220
Kaleb is a freshman linebacker (also played TE) who had himself a very productive 2023 season. He does a nice job at reading the O-Line and filling running lanes. His pursuit and speed look promising as well. There is a lot of room for Kaleb to improve, and that should come with age.
’25 WR/DB | Bishop James | Mt. Clemens | Twitter
6’4″ 155
Bishop is the most college-ready prospect on this list, and he also has the highest ceiling. Any college loves to see a 6’4″ receiver. Also, any college loves to see a receiver who’s good at getting up and getting 50/50 balls. In addition, Bishop also sports good explosiveness on his release and good downfield speed. I’d be interested to see how he tests with the shuttle and 40.
’25 RB | Jordan Hardiman | Pontiac A&T | Hudl
5’10” 180
Jordan is a good running back from Pontiac A&T. He does his job and he does it well. He’s good at finding his hole and sprinting through it. He also has a few instances of good open-field ability. Moving forward, he absolutely needs to work on harder running and finishing his runs in general.
