Ross emerged as a versatile force on the defensive side of the ball, defending the run and playing in space very well. He showed excellent timing on his rushes on the outside and played with great technique when asked to cover the slot. His long frame caused issues for opposing offenses as he used it to cover ground with his strides and knock down passes at the line of scrimmage.
