The North Side prospect has taken off over the past few months, and for good reason. He’s a lengthy athlete with great range, ability to bend, and is fairly versatile. On the backend of the defense, he’s as good as they come with reaction time and closing speed. His athletic ability is all over the tape and you can see why immediately he’s earned those 3 stars. The offers have started to come in for the Summit City recruit and they won’t be stopping anytime soon.
Fresh off of not 1 but 2 monster years, there’s quite a bit of intrigue growing over Jones. He’s a big back with power and the ability to run through defenders as well as make them miss. His vision is fantastic and he almost never misses a hole. He sticks to his reads, makes the right cut, and gets north and south. 2 years in a row with 1300 rushing yards and 15+ TDs is hard to do at any level. Jones has the talent, size, and consistency to develop into a good back at the next level.
The physical development for Diedhiou has taken off over the past year and a half or so. He’s grown a few inches and put on just about 30lbs since he was a freshman. All good weight as well. He was at a Prep Redzone Camp 2 winters ago and was a fantastic athlete. He was always in phase, kept his WR on his hip pocket, and did a good job hand fighting. I left the camp impressed but needed to see more. He’s since only continued to develop on the field as well and is someone who could be a sneaky signing down the road.
Highlights
A 6’6″ TE who can move well, block and catch the ball is always a hot topic for discussion and Thomas should be no different. His frame is real and he’s quickly filling it out. He’s incredibly strong and has a good head on his shoulders when on the field. He can be lined up on the end as a true TE, in the backfield, or out wide as a receiver. He gives the QB a big target and is as good in the Redzone as you would hope. It’s only a matter of time until the right coach finds Thomas and falls in love.
