The 2025 class in South Dakota continues to show off the outstanding length they have especially on both sides of the trenches. We found lots of fluidity with our running backs, posistion flexibility with our small town tight ends, and plenty of upside amongst the bulk of this group with plenty of next-level grades within the 2025 and 2026 classes.

Riley is a 2025 prospect that pops out early on tape with his ability to use his vision to read the quarterback’s eyes to identify where the ball angle is headed. At 6’4 250 pounds he shows off more athletic movement that shows off range beyond the inside box to get to the edges when needed. I also like his release he shows off his sheds as he shows off an instinctive pull-off. Another West River trenches prospect to track over the next handful of months. Twitter
One of my favorite 2026 running backs in this class hails from Sioux Falls Jefferson in 5’9 185 pound running back Daevion Simonsen Daevion Simonsen 5’9″ | 190 lbs | RB Sioux Falls Jefferson | 2026 State SD . I love the instinct Daevion plays with and his versatility in the run and pass-catching game show off his elusiveness highly. He also is a RB prospect that really checks my boxes with his fluidity, as Daevion in my eyes plays bigger than his measurables show as one with sound durability off contact. Certainly another scholarship level prospect at tailback for the Cavaliers upcoming. Twitter
Weiland is a 2026 LB prospect out of Rapid City Central that impresses me on tape with his transitional vision he shows off in space. For 5’11 195 pounds, he has great physicality on contact, and I believe there is some wiggle room to improve that skillset further over the coming years. He also shows off reps as the Cobblers running back, as Weiland shows off excellent durability on contact and plays with a fearless demeanor as a east-west runner that will use his strength to run thru the defender versus traveling outside. Weiland can also grow his presence as the MIKE inside the first level, as at times his movement travels away from the ball while I feel he could press heavier downhill. A three sport athlete that will be a team captain of the Cobblers next season that in my eyes has a next-level ceiling. Twitter
Jayden popped out on his junior tape first with his great hands not only with his moves they created, but with the speed he shows off with them as there was sound consistency throughout his tape. He also impresses with his dexterity he shows on tape with his change of direction and adjustment of speed when entering downhill into the backfield. A 6’0 235 pounder that plays hugely bigger than his measurables at defensive end. Getting a handful of NAIA and light Division II interest at the moment, which should show off his full stock level wise this summer at camps. Twitter
Highlights
A first team All-Conference tight end as a sophomore, you would not be surprised watching Isaak’s athletic vertical pop out with his sophomore tape’s first look. I love watching his quick release of speed creating separation just beyond the first level, as his long 6’4 striding ability certainly shows off what I want to see from a prospect that I see as a hybrid between TE and WR as the speed and body type shows off more upside at the WR position. Izaak shows off some crafty hands especially in the red zone and already in my eyes much like his brother Karst (Indiana, PA athlete) looks like a Saturday type prospect even with two more years of HS football on his plate. Ethan shows off the quick ripping hands I look for in the nose tackle position, as he certainly has an advantage with his 6’4 230 pound frame he has at his disposal. He also shows off solid vision within the inside box as well as he consistency with his rip off shedding ability to the left shows plenty of consistency on tape. I would like to see more versatility seeing how his moves are to the right side and a sophomore highlight tape would do this young man some justice heading into his junior year as a high upside nose tackle in this 2026 class out of NE South Dakota.
