Continue ReadingPrep Redzone Louisiana will release a final 2024 rankings this week before officially turning the page to 2025 with its next round of updates — followed by 2026 updates and the first 2027 rankings.
Leading up to the complete, 400-player list on Thursday, we will count down the top 40 in more detail.
And make sure to check back following the release for additional features and notes on the 2024 cohort as we close the recruiting book on the class as they begin their college careers.
30. Geordan Guidry Geordan Guidry 6'3" | 240 lbs | DL Ruston | 2024 State LA — 6-3, 240 DL — Ruston —> Tulane
The big defensive lineman finishes up another spot into the top 30 of the final class rankings after a dominant senior performance at the front of nasty defense that helped lead Ruston’s first state championship run in more than three decades. Guidry provided 61 tackles, including 10.5 sacks, as a consistently disruptive force with the ability to outright take over games at times. Several major programs around the country recruited Guidry, but he remained locked in with the Green Wave throughout the process and even the program’s coaching change.
29. Daniel Beale Daniel Beale 6'2" | 190 lbs | QB Catholic (Baton Rouge) | 2024 State LA — 6-2, 190 QB — Catholic (Baton Rouge) —> Louisiana (Lafayette)
“Baby Beale” played grown-man football all fall to help lead his Bears to a third state championship in his four-year career — each of which he played a major role in, but none more so than the last. The Louisiana (Lafayette) signee completed 213 of his 338 passes for 2,974 yards, 39 touchdowns and eight interceptions, controlling games with impressive pocket presence and decision-making while also flashing his athleticism on game-breaking runs on his way to a new “Wheels Beale” nickname.
28. Javion White Javion White 5'11" | 180 lbs | ATH Franklin Parish | 2024 State LA — 6-0, 180 ATH/DB — Franklin Parish —> Tulane
Up another few spots for the Patriots’ versatile, multisport star, White plays with great anticipation, high enough level ball skills that he could have also been a notable prospect as a receiver and enough fluidity and speed that Tulane coaches think he could potentially play cornerback in their system. The Green Wave have done a great job in recent years identifying and developing talented, but somewhat under heralded Louisiana defensive backs who have exceeded their recruiting attention and appear to have another on his way to New Orleans.
27. Tate Hamby Tate Hamby 6'1" | 180 lbs | ATH Ouachita Christian | 2024 State LA — 6-2, 190 ATH — Ouachita Christian —> Vanderbilt
One of the most-notable risers in the final rankings, the Vanderbilt signee consistently showcased his high-level athleticism with his versatility in all three phases on the football field as well as in basketball and track. The tall, long athlete snatched a combined 12 interceptions the past two seasons along with 111 tackles and five forced fumbles for a defensive résumé that stands out in and of itself. Add in 1,771 receiving yards and 22 touchdowns on offense to further showcase his ball skills, a school-record nine punt returns for touchdowns and a state-championship long jump to further demonstrate the type of player the Commodores found in Hamby.
26. Albert Smith III Albert Smith III 6'2" | 205 lbs | LB Ponchatoula | 2024 State LA — 6-1, 210 LB — Ponchatoula —> Arizona State
Smith stuck with his commitment to the Sun Devils through recruitment by Ole Miss and others, a signing that lands Arizona State one of Louisiana’s quickest, most-explosive pass-rushers in this senior class. The Ponchatoula star plays fast and with great balance as a disruptive force off the edge.
25. De’Myrion Johnson De’Myrion Johnson 6'2" | 280 lbs | DL Westgate | 2024 State LA — 6-1, 295 DL — Westgate —> LSU
One of the notable in-state recruiting wins for the Tigers in this cycle, the big defensive lineman nicknamed “Ma9” is a stout, strong athlete with experience on the end and in the interior, the ability to eat up blockers and free up his teammates and also flash some of his own quickness into the backfield when given one-on-one opportunities.
24. Dylan Day Dylan Day 6'0" | 170 lbs | DB Southern Lab | 2024 State LA — 6-0, 170 DB — Southern Lab —> Miami
The ballhawking defensive back wrapped his high school career with an all-state performance of 10 tackles, including five returned for touchdowns, and another 30 pass breakups to help lead his Kittens to their second state championship in three years. Day also consistently showcased a solid physicality to his game whether with hard-hitting tackles in the open field or crashing down into the box in run support.
23. KJ Daniels KJ Daniels 5'10" | 155 lbs | WR Bowling Green | 2024 State LA — 5-9, 150 WR — Bowling Green —> Oklahoma
The speedy receiver and return man finished his high school career at Bowling Green, a smaller private school competing in the MAIS, and helped the program to a district title and state runner-up performance before signing with Oklahoma. Daniels has always been one of the smallest prospects on our 2024 rankings, but also one of the most electric and has a chance to be a special weapon at the next level in a major college strength program and spread field.
22. Tristan Santoro Tristan Santoro 6'6" | 270 lbs | OL Evangel Christian | 2024 State LA — 6-6, 275 OL — Evangel Christian —> Baylor
The Baylor signee finishes as a top-25 prospect and top-three offensive line prospect on the final Prep Redzone Louisiana list. Santoro has great size, a strong base and strong hands that keep defenders completely off-balance and out of plays in a way that seems to put his wrestling background on display on the football field.
21. Rahji Dennis Rahji Dennis 6'0" | 170 lbs | WR Edna Karr | 2024 State LA — 6-0, 170 WR — Edna Karr —> Louisiana (Lafayette)
Another smaller, track-speed receiver on this list, Dennis has a bit more height, length and muscle to his frame and has shown the ability to make some tough, contested catches through contact and over defenders. The Cajuns appeared to land a potential steal late in the Cougars’ multisport standout, whose speed alone should make him a valuable asset on both offense and special teams with his continued strides as a more well-rounded receiver only further raising that ceiling.
