FLORENCE | The Carolinas Coaches Combines took their act to location No. 2 on Sunday, continuing to put even more of the state's players to the test.

While much of the official data from the event won't be released for a couple days, the ever-important eye test didn't need a spreadsheet.

From a jam-packed tight end group to a quarterback who showed up stronger than ever to a defensive back almost no one has ever heard of, the 2025s who showed up to West Florence for the second portion of the four-part series (in South Carolina) gave us plenty to talk about.

[player_tooltip player_id='1255330' first='Noah' last='Lucas'] TE, Lower Richland

Much like many of the other athletes in attendance, the appearance at the Combine wasn't the only part of the weekend. On Saturday, Lucas (pictured) won the shot put event at a sizable meet with a throw of more than 50 feet (that would have been good enough for 6th in the state at the Class 4A state meet last spring). Then, on Sunday, Lucas turned around and wowed everyone with his size (he's 6-foot-4) and mobility. He's got three college offers (two FBS, one FCS) and he'll have several more sooner rather than later.

[player_tooltip player_id='1254211' first='Kai' last='Morrison'] DB, St. James

To say that Morrison's stock rose Sunday is a bit of an understatement. Because in terms of a rising senior, Morrison had very little coming into the weekend. Morrison was only credited with one tackle for the Sharks after transferring in from a school without football. He saw limited time at corner and on special teams in only a handful of games. And while he was often lost in the shuffle as a junior, he showed off his athleticism, coverage skills and some great size (6-foot-3, 183.4 pounds) during the combine. With some extended coaching, Morrison could be a high-quality project for the right program.

Jaheim Jones TE, Crestwood

Jones is a much different type of tight end than Lucas, but we can tell you that he's got some all-star coaches taking a good hard look at him because of his ability to line up all over the line of scrimmage - from the tackle to the sideline - and then what he can do with the ball in his hands. Jones first caught our eye last summer during a 7-on-7 event when he was torching opposing teams. On Sunday, he made his mark by showing up nearly a inch taller than he was at the beginning of last season.

[player_tooltip player_id='457973' first='Trooper' last='Floyd'] QB, Chester

Speaking of players who are putting on some quality size, Floyd was every bit of 6-foot-1 and 190.8 pounds on Sunday. That's some 10 pounds more than we had him at last season. The offseason weight program is clearly working in terms of what he looks like, but also with his arm strength. It should only help him improve on what was a 64.3 completion percentage from his junior season.

Brown Reaves TE, North Myrtle Beach

No, we're not done with the tight ends yet. Reaves was yet another one of them who stood out Sunday, especially when it came to his positioning during a downfield blocking drill in which he had to get off the line and into position to block for a tailback. Reaves has a great pedigree and is coming off a season in which he caught 25 passes for 322 yards and three touchdowns. Him and teammate [player_tooltip player_id='929482' first='Kaden' last='Gore'] should help quarterback Landon Cloninger hit the next stage of his development in the process and provide the Chiefs a much more versatile offense.

[player_tooltip player_id='1253897' first='Christian' last='Huynh'] OL, Carolina Forest

Huynh was one of the “finalists” for top offensive lineman of the morning session after flat out getting after it during the opening portions, which included the combine measurements and performance data. He's going to catch some folks off-guard this season as he's possibly moving spots on the line after Phil McLean held down the fort at left tackle a year ago. Either way, the Panthers get more out of offensive linemen than maybe any school on the coast and Huynh has another few months to improve before his senior season begins.

[player_tooltip player_id='1249788' first='Connor' last='Gooding'] TE, Gilbert

Can you tell we really liked what this positional group did this weekend? With coaches from the Shrine Bowl and Touchstone Energy Cooperatives Bowl mining the state for tight ends for this year's games, Gooding put himself further into consideration by showing up in great shape and putting his 6-foot-3, 195-pound frame into action. Gooding moves extremely well and while he'll need to add a few more pounds to become a better blocker, there's no question about his hands or ability to catch the ball in space.

[player_tooltip player_id='1249778' first='Jordan' last='Joe'] WR/DB, North Central

From the second Joe registered until he started taking reps at receiver to wrap things up, the 6-foot-3, 175-pound two-way threat was active and engaged against players from much larger schools who aren't asked to play offense and defense. Joe has some significant range on defense - we've seen that live - but he also hauled in a pass in traffic, broke free of the defender and could have walked it in for an easy touchdown. Instead, he brought the ball back to keep the receiver line moving.

[player_tooltip player_id='1157897' first='Cameron' last='Coe'] LB, South Florence

Coe is an electric outside linebacker who made some monster plays for South Florence before and after he was sidelined for a few games with an injury that made the Bruins coaches happy when the discovered it wasn't as bad as previously thought. He returned and finished the state runner-up season with 34 total tackles, five tackles for loss and two defensive scores (one interception, one fumble recovery). Now back to 100 percent, it's no shock that he showed up to West Florence and turned on the gas a few times for the staff to see.

[player_tooltip player_id='1574036' first='Aiden' last='Hastings'] DB, Waccamaw

Hastings drew some eye balls when he got a little fired up after breaking up a pass along the sideline. And while the follow-up act was more demonstrative, the play itself included Hastings elevating and becoming almost completely horizontal for a split second over the top of the receiver. The Warriors aren't devoid of playmakers, but if they're going to compete in their new region, some more of them certainly won't hurt.

[player_tooltip player_id='413888' first='Josh' last='Brown'] WR, Socastee

There really is no telling how much further Brown could shoot up our rankings. There are a lot of unknowns at Socastee, from how Brown performs without his receiver mate - [player_tooltip player_id='771237' first='Quadir' last='Scott'] - the last two seasons to how this offense looks without [player_tooltip player_id='139313' first='Rocco' last='Wojcik'] at quarterback. But Brown has the goods. He's big and fast and has sure-fire hands and can run routes to perfection when he needs to. All of that was on display Sunday.
