DORCHESTER | Nearly 150 football players from the 2026 and 2027 Class were on hand Saturday afternoon at Woodland High School to showcase their talents to the coaches and the others on hand to watch the combine and one-on-one activities.
We have already told you about the award winners. Here are 15 additional names you will want to know about sooner rather than later.
Matthew Atkinson OL, West Ashley
Atkinson was a force in the one-on-one battles against defensive linemen. But his numbers were some of the better among the offensive linemen as well. He measured 6-foot3, 299 pounds with a 79-inch wingspan. His other measurables graded out about average but he did bench press 185 pounds 15 times. That strength helped going up against the defensive linemen.
Drelyn Brown Drelyn Brown 5'8" | 145 lbs | RB Silver Bluff | 2027 SC RB, Silver Bluff
Brown’s teammate, Hiszari Gantt Hiszari Gantt 5'9" | 140 lbs | WR Silver Bluff | 2026 State SC , stole the show but Brown was right on his heels. The Class of 2027 running back had the second fastest 40-time of the day with a 4.5 showing. Brown was 5-foot-5, 152 pounds and added a 26.4-inch vertical and a 90-inch broad jump along with a 4.62 pro shuttle. Needless to say, the Bulldogs will have speed to burn this fall.
TJ Bryant OL, Stratford,
We focused a good bit on the one-on-one battles between the offensive and defensive lines and Bryant was one that caught our eye. His 80-inch wingspan helped him keep opponents at a distance. He was 6-foot, 276 pounds and his low center helped him control opponents from getting to the quarterback.
Marcus Cann Marcus Cann 6'1" | 170 lbs | ATH Bamberg-Ehrhardt | 2026 State SC WR, Bamberg-Ehrhardt
The 5-foot-11, 168-pounder was impressive across the board. He ran a 4.74 40 with a 24.8 vertical, 104-inch broad jump and 4.97 pro shuttle. And pound-for-pound, he was one of the strongest kids by evidence of his bench press of 185 pounds 10 times. He also showed good hands and solid route-running in the one-on-one battles.
Kemori DeWeese WR, Summerville
DeWeese wasn’t a huge part of the Green Wave offense last season but that will change for the 5-foot-10, 157-pounder this season. He ran a 4.58 40 and added a 26-inch vertical, 107-inch broad jump and one of the best pro shuttle times of the day at 4.31.
Chris Doyle DL, Bluffton
Doyle checked in at 5-foot-11, 277 pounds and was one of the strongest participants on the day. He benched pressed 185 pounds 21 times and for good measure added a 20.9-inch vertical. He also showed great pass rushing ability against his opponents.
Galil Frazier QB, Colleton County 2027
The combine numbers for the 5-foot-10, 136-pounder will not jump out at you but once he started throwing the football, things changed. He showed great accuracy and was good at throwing a back shoulder throw, a quick out, or the deep ball. He will give the Cougars a much-needed shot in the arm this fall.
Marcus Henderson Marcus Henderson 5'9" | 165 lbs | LB Berkeley | 2026 State SC LB, Berkeley
Henderson was only 5-foot-8, 165 pounds, but his combine numbers were some of the best from a linebacker. He ran a 4.86 40 with a 26.4-inch vertical and 103-inch broad jump. He also benched 185 pounds 12 times. He was a tackling machine for the Stags, and he plays sideline-to-sideline very well.
Ben Humphries OL, Airport
Standing next to Humphries high school coach, Shane Fidler, he called the rising sophomore a bull collar worker. He came in at 5-foot-10, 244 pounds and had a nice wingspan at 83 inches. He added a 19-3-inch vertical and a 97-inch broad jump while bench pressing 185 pounds 12 times.
Solomon Kelson RB, AC Flora
Kelson was a backup for the Falcons last season, but the rising junior will be a huge part of a young, hungry cast of skill players this season. Kelson was 5-foot-6, 154 pounds and ran a 4.61 40. He added 23.2-inch vertical with a 100-inch broad jump.
Dontray Lewis OL/DL, Whale Branch
Lewis was given the Leadership award, and it was for good reason. The rising junior checked in at 6-foot-2, 221 pounds with an 81-inch wingspan. He ran a respectable 5.18 40 and added a 94-inch broad jump. He was vocal all afternoon, encouraging every player. He also ran drills on both the offensive and defensive line.
Davion McKinnis DL, Silver Bluff
Another Silver Bluff player had a good showing to go along with Gantt and Atkinson. He weighed 287 pounds with an 83-inch wingspan. He added a 82-inch broad jump and bench pressed 185 pounds 15 times. He showed good leverage and quickness in the one-on-one portion of the camp.
Rahiem Saunders Rahiem Saunders 6'2" | 295 lbs | DL Whale Branch | 2027 State SC DL, Whale Branch
The rising sophomore was one of the bigger guys there at 6-foot, 306 pounds. His low center and strength made it hard for the offensive lineman to get a good handle on him. He also showed a quick burst that gave him an advantage off the line.
Rodney Wilder WR, Colleton County
Wilder showed great route-running and was able to get open on short passes as well when he was asked to go deep. He was 5-foot-8, 153 pounds and ran a 4.6 40 while adding a 25.6-inch vertical, 108-inch broad jump and a 4.81 pro shuttle.
Diami Williams DB, Midland Valley
Williams showed great coverage skills while checking in a 5-foot-9, 156 pounds. He ran a 4.65 40 and his vertical 30.3-inches, which will allow him to cover taller receivers. He also had one of the best board jumps on the day at 111 inches while added a 4.53 pro shuttle.
