Without any further ado, here’s today’s look at some under the radar 2028’s in Kentucky to keep an eye on next fall.
Making a considerable difference on both sides last season was
Avery Thompson
Avery
Thompson
6’2″ | 160 lbs | WR
Paducah | 2028
KY
, an athlete at Paducah Middle School. What impresses me about Thompson offensively is his arm strength, precision in the air and his ability to maneuver the pocket. I also like Thompson’s ability to be disruptive as a free safety, proving he can read the offense as well as get in prime position to pick off the quarterback.
Highlights
I am additionally impressed with
Elijah Bishop
Elijah
Bishop
5’8″ | 155 lbs | RB
Green County | 2028
KY
, an athlete at Green County Middle School. What I like about Bishop’s playstyle is his breakaway speed and ability to get wide open for the deep pass in the backfield. I also like Bishop’s size and strength on the ground, proving he can blast through the pocket and utilize his strong footwork to juke out the defense on his way to the house.
Showcasing his skillset under center last year was Carter Muzic Carter Muzic 6’0″ | 160 lbs | QB Robert D. Campbell | 2028 KY , a quarterback at Robert D. Campbell Middle School. In addition to great execution off the snap, what stands out about Muzic is his ability to stay composed in the pocket under pressure, proving he can break tackles and get the ball out of his hands. Muzic’s arm strength and accuracy make him a difficult gunslinger to contain.

Xavier Hudson
Xavier Hudson
Another prospect to keep an eye on is Xavier Hudson, an athlete at Somerset Middle School. Hudson impresses me as a wide receiver, showing off his breakaway speed as well as his strong catching in the backfield. I also like Hudson’s footwork and deceptive moment, proving his ability to blast into enemy territory from along the edge with his explosiveness on the ground.

Owen Smith
Owen Smith
Proving himself at the line of scrimmage last season was Owen Smith, an offensive lineman at Belfry Middle School. What makes Smith so impactful is his size and ability to quickly exert his strength off the snap to push the defense back and create disorganization for the opposition in the pocket. I also like how Smith can absorb pressure and shut down the blitz with his physicality in crucial moments.
