Prep Redzone continues our breakdowns position by position in the state of Illinois. We continue with a look at the rising senior quarterbacks here in 2025 Film Room: Western Suburbs Quarterbacks!

[player_tooltip player_id='161508' first='Ethan' last='Plumb'] (St. Charles North – 6'3” 205)

Plumb is the top QB prospect in the 2025 class. This past year he racked up 2,557 passing yards and 32 total TDs (21 pass 11 run) with a 65% completion rate. Also notched 290 rushing yards. The 6'3" QB has good size and strength. Effective throwing across all levels. What was most impressive was how accurate he is on the move and throwing off platform. Quick release and inside the pocket makes quick movements with his feet to avoid rushers. Touch on deep ball and has a ton of zip on throws over the middle. Works well in the RPO game as a runner pulling it and getting up the field. Overall we saw a creative QB that can play in and out of the pocket along with running.

[player_tooltip player_id='288435' first='Jacob' last='Bell'] (Naperville North – 6'3” 190)

Bell has great size and strength at 6'3" and nearly 200 pounds. Plays with physicality to his game at the QB spot. That was shown on the first play of his tape throwing a bomb TD while taking a big hit. Strong arm that he lets it rip on crossing patterns and post routes. Quick release and movements inside of the pocket. Accurate rolling the pocket especially on out routes to the right. Steps up in the pocket when needed and can tuck it and run if the situation requires it. Anticipates well and can really let it fly out of his hand.

[player_tooltip player_id='118787' first='Logan' last='Malachuk'] (Nazareth – 5'11” 175)

The Nazareth QB racked up 3,477 passing yards on 61% completion rate while also running for 526 yards and going for 43 total touchdowns. Wrote down clean and easy release multiple times during this tape. Comes off his hand with such ease. Strong arm and ball explodes out of hand. Great footwork and is patient with it and seemed to be always balanced when in pocket. Drops the ball in the bucket on the bomb throws. Great combination of zip and touch on a variety of throws. Can also throw off balance while still getting velocity on his throws. Very effective as a RPO runner with home run speed!

[player_tooltip player_id='331528' first='Jack' last='Reilly'] (St. Francis – 6'1” 190)

Reilly drops the deep ball right in the bucket over and over. Solid athlete that likes to make plays on the move. Throws against his body a lot and doesn't always get his legs into throws.

[player_tooltip player_id='252482' first='Tony' last='Chahino'] (Geneva – 6'1” 195)

Chahino has the advantage of the best wide out in the 2025 class on his side. Puts him in position to do what he is so special at. Chahino is patient letting routes develop and throws well on the run. Can roll out to his left and throw against his body with solid accuracy.

Ben Pincis (Glenbard North – 5'9” 180)

This is another eval based on sophomore tape. He lets it rip and puts everything in his body into each throw. Zip on the ball especially on shorter routes. Best throwing over the middle on cross routes and slants. Very good scrambler that might be a better runner than passer.

[player_tooltip player_id='252476' first='Gaetano' last='Carbonara'] (Montini – 5'11” 180)

This 5'11" quarterback has a quick release. The ball explodes off his hand making quick decisions getting rid of it. Calm in the pocket and is accurate with his throws downfield. Puts the ball in positions where only his man can get it. Leans back a bit on his throws instead of stepping into them at times. Good ball manipulation on play fakes.

Bruno Massell (York – 5'11” 180)

Massell is a good athlete that is better as a runner than a passer. Creative with the ball running. Throws well on the move and has a quick release.

[player_tooltip player_id='833303' first='Kiet' last='Truong'] (Neuqua Valley – 6'0” 165)

Truong is a rock solid QB. Wiry signal caller that has good footwork and deep arm strength. Throws well on the move and has some developmental potential especially if he can get stronger.

[player_tooltip player_id='162593' first='Dominic' last='West'] (Downers Grove South – 6'0” 185)

One of the rare lefty QB we saw in this 2025 QB group across the state. Works well in the RPO game and is a powerful runner. Probably a better runner manipulating in the run game than passer. Strong arm throwing the deep ball flicking it and letting it fly.

Brett Connolly (Oswego – 5'10” 160)

Connolly is a smaller QB that is a quality scrambler. Throws a catchable ball and has decent arm strength. Like what he brings on designated runs.
