Yesterday I spoke at the Kansas Football Coaches Association State Conference in Wichita. There were some coaches whose eyes popped when I shared the number of Kansas Athletes whom I knew had committed.

That group has increased over the past week, so here is another report on ranked and unranked Kansas talent who have committed to play collegiate football. Four of the athletes are ranked and all are headed to in-state programs. The other four featured athletes will be added to the rankings when next updated and three of the four are staying in Kansas.

[player_tooltip player_id='262757' first='Keegun' last='Beims'], OL, 6'1” 270, Concordia (Tabor)

Beims is a solid interior lineman who understands how to create space. He is currently ranked No. 243 overall in the Kansas Class of 2024 rankings and is scheduled to play in the Kansas Shrine Bowl. He will more than likely be a candidate to play offensive guard for Tabor, but he could switch sides of the ball if needed.

[player_tooltip player_id='1109205' first='Christian' last='McAfee'], LB, 6'4”, 215, Sabetha (Benedictine)

McAfee is a three-sport athlete who chose football over basketball and baseball to compete at the collegiate level. He is currently ranked No. 299 in the Prep Redzone Kansas Class of 2024 rankings. He is penciled in to compete for a linebacker spot on the Ravens' roster. He is very versatile and could make a switch to the offensive backfield or tight end in a pinch.

[player_tooltip player_id='1112067' first='Tieon' last='Jones'], DB, 6'1”, 180, Blue Valley North (Hutchinson)

Jones is a fast defensive back who can play corner or safety. He had multiple JUCO offers this offseason but has chosen to continue his playing career with the Hutchinson Blue Dragons. He is currently ranked No. 321 among his 2024 peers in Kansas.

[player_tooltip player_id='1112069' first='Vinny' last='Jones'], DB, 5'11”, 180, Paola (Baker)

Jones could end up being a hybrid linebacker/safety at the college level. The Paola product finished his senior season with 56 total tackles. During his senior campaign, he also collected nine TFLs, three interceptions, and one quarterback sack. He is currently ranked No. 321 overall in the Prep Redzone rankings. He could contribute to special teams early in his career at Baker.

[player_tooltip player_id='1186052' first='Braylon' last='Berry'], DL, 6'0” 220, Clay Center (Bethany)

Berry has a great combination of size and speed. He plays a lunch pail type of game and has a high football IQ. His final three teams came down to KCAC programs Southwestern, Bethany, and Tabor. The unranked defensive lineman decided to commit to the Swedes.

[player_tooltip player_id='1186049' first='Daniel' last='Vann'], DL, 6'2”, 275, Olathe North (Midland)

Vann is a gritty run-stopping defensive tackle. He can beat double teams and is a gap-filler. The Olathe North product has signed with Midland University in Nebraska.

[player_tooltip player_id='1186050' first='Maveryk' last='Becker'], ATH, 5'9”, 160, Centralia (Baker)

Becker is a versatile offensive weapon. During his senior season, he rushed for 1,009 yards and had 22 receptions good for 383 yards for the Centralia Panthers. It appears that Baker plans to use him at the wide receiver position, to begin with. He has nice hands and could return punts for the Wildcats.

[player_tooltip player_id='1186048' first='Easton' last='Sears'], OL, 6'3”, 250, Wichita Southeast (Garden City)

Sears has quick feet for a big man. He could play guard or tackle for the Broncbusters. He will need to add some upper-body strength this offseason if he wants to compete for a starting job at Garden City.
