We will end our rankings updates with a debuting of the Class of 2027 rankings around mid- March. As we work towards that I want to make sure we are spotlighting the athletes in that Class who are already making names for themselves on HS fields across the state. This is going to be our biggest collection of talent for any freshman rankings debut that we have done, so there is plenty of talent to dive into!
Brady was a bully on the field in 2023. It didn’t matter if it was on offense, defense, or special teams. He seems to toss opponents around on every highlight clip. Clearly the freshman has built a superior level of strength that has allowed him to dominate in the trenches vs his fellow freshmen on both sides of the ball. Brady’s power also shows up in his lower body where he has shown an excellent first step off the snap while on defense. We see him fly through gaps and close on the ball very quickly. He also is a high motor player who makes a lot of plays thanks to surprising range. I’m excited to see how Brady continues to grow and find where his true position is.
I have been following Jayce for a while already, watching him build up his strength in the Horlick weight room. It has worked as we saw the freshman get onto the varsity field. Jayce doesn’t win the size matchup much, so he quickly learned to lean on that base of power and his quickness to win in the offensive trenches. He is a bulldozer as a puller. We see him bury opponents and remove them from holes to open up space for his backs. The freshman is light on his feet and able to turn that short area burst into power when he makes initial contact. As Jayce continues to grow, get stronger, and develop the technique of the position we could see him make big leaps year to year. An athlete to keep your eyes on.
Highlights
I don’t know how they do it, but Kenosha Bradford has been printing impressive WR prospects for years now. Up next is freshman Larenzz Pratt Larenzz Pratt 6’0″ | 160 lbs | WR Bradford | 2027 State IL who already found his way onto the varsity field. We see Larenzz primarily in the slot where he has shown to be too quick for safeties/LBs that teams try to put over him. We see him on a lot of quick routes where he can create separation with his route running and then use that quickness and agility to make the defense miss. The long speed is there too as we see him stretch the seam and be utilized on jet sweeps. Kenosha Bradford is finding ways to get him the ball quickly and in space, and Larenzz takes care of the rest. Get this kid on your radar early.
