Looking at the passing yardage leaders from last season in the junior class, five popped and caught many eyes. Let’s dive into these players and see what they bring to the field.
Nuss looked phenomenal last season, throwing for 1712 yards, ranking fifth in the class, and throwing 17 touchdowns. He has an exceptional skillset in the pocket, displaying tremendous footwork and a really good arm. Nuss sets his feet, points his toes in the direction he’s throwing, and keeps his cleats in the dirt to deliver a powerful pass. His arm talent is outstanding, displaying his ability to change arm angles but always having a snappy, quick throwing motion. Nuss can hit all three levels of the field with accuracy, pushing the ball deep or zipping passes into tight windows at the intermediate levels. He works the middle of the field really well but also shows that he has the arm strength to reach the opposite hash. Overall, Nuss has a big year coming up, and all eyes need to be on him next season.
Kazimir Rebarcak
Kazimir Rebarcak
Rebarcak ranked sixth in the class in passing yards, throwing for 1423 with a 108.4 rating. Standing at 6-foot-4 and 200 pounds, he has the size teams look for in a quarterback. Rebarcak has effortless arm strength when asked to push the ball down the field. He drops back with solid footwork, gets his feet set, and with a flick of the wrist, he’s tossing a bomb for his receiver to run under. Rebarcak has solid accuracy, dropping passes over the defender’s head on third-level passes or with strong velocity into a tight window. Not only is he a solid passer, but he also has the mobility and toughness to get tough yardage with his legs when he gets flushed from the pocket. With Rebarcak under center, their offense is able ot hit the big play at any moment of the game.

Bacon had a tremendous junior season, throwing for 2193, which ranked third in the junior 5A class, with 18 touchdowns and only eight interceptions. His ability to improvise and create off-script is phenomenal and gives him extra time to push the ball deep, which he does really well. Bacon has that touch on his deep throws, allowing his receiver to run under the ball in stride. He understands when to take a little off or zip it into a tight window, showing that he can throw with accuracy and velocity. Bacon’s ability to throw on the run is a testament to how well he can create plays under pressure while remaining poised. He has good footwork and a snappy arm that allows him to get the ball out quickly, no matter the platform he’s throwing from, and if he has to tuck it and run, Bacon has the athleticism to create plays with his legs.
Devin Holman
Devin Holman
Holman put together a strong season, throwing for 1313 passing yards, which ranked seventh in the class, and added 12 passing touchdowns to his stat line. Holman has solid velocity to his passes, proving to be able to hit his receivers in tight windows or push the ball deep to drop in stride. His quick and snappy throwing motion helps him get the ball out quickly as he anticipates an open throwing lane. Holman can throw to all levels of the field with accuracy, adding velocity to his passes or taking something off when needed.
Wallace had a very good junior season, throwing for 1807 yards, ranking fourth in the class, tossing 13 touchdowns, and rushing for six throughout nine games. He has the ideal size, standing 6-foot-3 and 205 pounds; he’s an imposing quarterback who easily sees over the line and can take contact.
