2025
Darden is a physical CB prospect with the size and speed profile to play at the FBS level. He comes in at 6’1 185 and showcases good speed when he opens up his stride. Darden is best playing in off-man coverage where he can read and react to underneath route concepts. When he breaks on the ball, he does a good job of using his length to attack the catch pocket and knock the ball to the turf. He is still refining his press man technique and learning to flip his hips, but he plays with good closing speed and tries to play through the hands of the WR, even when he can’t locate the ball. He appears comfortable coming downhill and pursuing the football. He engages and dodges blockers well and is active around the football. Darden holds several FBS offers and is not done adding more.
Highlights
2026
Justin Bonner
Justin Bonner
Bonner is a smooth, reliable WR prospect with the ability to impact the game at all levels of the field and play inside and out. He does an excellent job of causing hesitation in DBs with his deception and ability to sell the vertical route. At times, he slow plays his release off the line and quickly accelerates to unlock the deep area of the field. After the catch, Bonner is dangerous thanks to his vision and ability to create his own yards. He has decent twitch, but he makes defenders miss by locating running lanes in his peripherals. Bonner might not possess the ceiling that other 2026 receivers have, but he has a high floor and creates separation with pure instinct and feel for the game. Bonner should be a safe pickup for an FBS school in the future.
2027
Colby Key
Colby Key
Key has tremendous freshman tap and has already cemented himself as one of the more notable names in a prolific 2027 QB class in Alabama. With an offer under his belt from UAB, FBS programs have already begun to take notice. Key has incredible arm strength and can attack the hole shots. He puts tremendous spin on the ball with the nose down, giving his WRs a catchable football to reel in. Key might not be a dangerous runner, but he plays off-script exceptionally well and locates WRs crossing the field into open spots. When rolling to his non-arm side, he does a good job of quickly getting his hips around and setting his feet before he throws. Key not only has plus arm strength, but he also plays under control and can force the action. UAB is just the first of what should be many FBS offers.
2028
As far as 2028 prospects are concerned, they aren’t really picking up offers right now unless they’re bonafide studs. So while Mims may be a bit far from picking up offer number 1, he is absolutely someone I have on offer watch during his first year. He comes in around 6’3 170 and is obviously not anywhere close to his peak physically. Even with a thinner frame, his mismatch potential is off the charts. He tracks the ball well in the air and has the length to reach out of a crowd to bring in the football. He also looks natural when he opens up his stride, quickly eating grass and lifting away from defenders. I love the upside here and believe he will be one of the more highly recruited 2028 TEs in Alabama.
