Jayvn Pouono Jayvn Pouono 6’4″ | 315 lbs | OL Bishop Manogue | 2024 State NV is one of several uncommitted Bishop Manogue prospects. I was impressed with the progress the state champ made during his senior season. Jayvn has received interest from Hawaii and the College of San Mateo, so be on the lookout for more schools to be in touch this winter. Coaches love Jayvn’s leg drive and physicality in the run game that moves people at the point of attack. Good football IQ and balance gets displayed working to the second level and squaring up defenders in space. Jayvn’s size, anchor, quickness, and powerful punch highlights his potential to be a versatile pass protector in college.
Jadyn Buckner Jadyn Buckner 6’0″ | 185 lbs | ATH Bishop Manogue | 2024 State NV is the second Bishop Manogue prospect in this article. He is one of the top two-way prospects still uncommitted in Nevada, but I think he is set to play defense in college. Jadyn received an offer from Southern Oregon University this month, so be on the lookout for more schools in the region to come in late this winter. Coaches like Jadyn’s combination of power and physicality displayed in his consistent effort in the run game. Jadyn shows good tackling ability, closing speed, and a fluid change of direction in pursuit of ball carriers in the open field. Good awareness and closing speed displayed in zone coverage highlights Jadyn’s potential to be a versatile pass defender in college.
Razzaq Thomas Razzaq Thomas 6’0″ | 230 lbs | LB Bishop Gorman | 2024 State NV is one of the most versatile, uncommitted seniors in Las Vegas. Razzaq received his first offer from Concordia-Ann Arbor this week, but I am surprised the Bishop Gorman defender has received so little regional attention. Good strength and instincts get displayed as a defensive end shedding blockers and quickly finding the ball in the run game. Coaches like Razzaq’s fast hands and quickness displayed as a pass rushing outside linebacker. Razzaq’s size, tackling ability, and closing speed highlights his ability to be a versatile defender at the next level.
Carter Eck Carter Eck 6’2″ | 215 lbs | DL Bishop Manogue | 2024 State NV may be the most underrated state champ in northern Nevada. Carter has seen some attention from the University of Nevada, but I am surprised more schools surrounding Reno have not been in contact. Watch for schools in the region to come in late to the versatile tight end’s recruitment. Good hands, adjustment ability, and a large radius get displayed extending overhead to make contested catches. Carter displays the quickness, strength, and athleticism when separating underneath that suggests he can develop into a reliable target over the middle. Carter shows the flexible base, strong upper-body and powerful leg drive as a run blocker that suggests he has all the tools to develop into a quality Y-TE at the next level.
Victor Plotnikov Victor Plotnikov 6’0″ | 210 lbs | QB Centennial | 2024 State NV leaves Centennial as a state champion and all-time leading passer. The talented lefty received an offer from Culver-Stockton College in December. Be on the lookout for schools closer to Nevada to revisit Victor’s tape and offer the accurate passer before spring gets here. Victor shows a good combination of accuracy and anticipation leading receivers through tight windows in zone coverage. Good toughness and pocket presence gets displayed evading pass rushers in the pocket and delivering accurate deep balls in the face of pressure. Victor’s strength, quick feet, and accuracy on the run highlights his ability to extend plays with his arm when forced to operate outside of the pocket.
