Here is a look at some rising sophomore running backs that will be hard to miss in the next two seaons:
Burnham was the top running back not only in the 2026 class but also in the state of Idaho. He put together a monster season where he rushed for 1,448 yards and 18 touchdowns. Burnham uses his unique abilities to put on a show every time he touches the football. A back that in stature is not the biggest player on the field but never shies away from contact and has a compact frame that allows him to run through defenders. He has game changing speed that allows him to get the edge and really stress a defense to go along with elite level patience and vision. He is going to be hard to stop for the next two seasons.

Carson was a monster for Vallivue this season with his ability to turn tough runs into big plays. He rushed for 708 yards and 6 touchdowns this season. In Vallivue’s run heavy offense he was able to really be a game breaker with his speed and ability to get to the edge quickly. He is a name to keep an eye on and is one of players we will be watching closely this upcoming season.
Morel is a bigger back who has really good straight line speed and is able to really make a plays all over the field. He is a player who not only can run in between the tackles and also play on the perimeter with his ability to catch the football out of the backfield. He has good vision and ability to setup blocks but also has really soft hands to catch the football with. He is a player we have rising on our board and will be a name to watch in the next seasons.
