Expert Analysis
Paul Gregorian | Prep Redzone Scout
Carson is one of the top ball carriers across the state of Idaho and is going to be a very nice get for a college program near signing day. He’s a balanced ball carrier that is explosive in the short area and can gain the tough yards inside while also able to bounce it when needed and has cutback abilities in the open field. He is extremely productive in the passing game as well and is a no-brainer D2/NAIA+ caliber back. In week 5, he rushed for just under the 200 yard marker with 3 touchdowns and is one of the top rushing leaders across the state of Idaho heading into week six of the season.

Carson is one of the top returning players across Idaho heading into 2025 and is a big and physical back that can get downhill quickly and is tough to take down once he gets going. He runs behind his pads with natural lean, leg drive through contact and can bounce off tacklers with ease, always falling forward. He shows a strong initial burst through the first level and is a long strider that covers a ton of ground when bouncing it outside and shows cutback abilities and vision in tight windows as well. Overall, he is a very smooth and fluid athlete with a strong build that should be able to find a home at the next level.

Carson put together a monster season for Vallivue where he was able to be the one of the top rushers in the entire 2026 class. He is a complete back that is able to run through and around defenders. He can catch out of the backfield and then is able to hit the edge of a defense. Has great wiggle and makes defenders miss.

Carson is currently the second leading rusher across Idaho and has had a truly breakout Junior campaign and should find himself on some college radars this off-season. He is a very balanced runner with natural forward lean, leg drive through contact and gets vertical quickly while bouncing off arm and ankle tacklers and looks for contact in the hole. He is a low to the ground/compact runner that is also a receiving threat out of the backfield and displays some open field wiggle and third level speed. In the first round of the playoff’s against Bonneville, he went over the 120+ yard rushing mark with two scores, moving his season total to 1,378 yards on the ground.

Carson is rated as the number two back in the class of 2026 for a reason. He shows great breakaway speed along with the vision to make defenders miss. He has enough wiggle in the open field to be hard to tackle one on one but also shows a threat of a pass catcher out of the backfield.
