If I had to give an award for the most outstanding 2027 at the camp my award would go to this guy. Measured out at 6’3 317 and timed in the top 25% in the shuttle run. Good mobility, moves his feet well. He carries his weight very well, never would have guessed he was 315. Quick enough with his hands to body to get in front of smaller defensive lineman. Strong enough to push you out of the play once he engages. Not only Top in the ’27 class at camp but was named one of the top overall OL by the coaching staff. P5 potential especially as he gets stronger. Plays in a great program at Savannah Christian.
Beard is a 2027 everyone was familiar with coming into camp. He won the Offensive Player of the Game several weeks ago at the Elite Classic and followed that up this weekend as a Top Performer in the RB group. He was a 2 way starter last season at Lincoln Co and was named 1st Team All Region DB. He is making the move to Prince Ave Christian this Fall and they are getting a good one. Measured out Top 10% in the 40 and the shuttle run. Displayed his quickness and ability to catch the ball out of the backfield in 1v1. Physical kid that comes from a football family.
Highlights
Lee County is known for putting out great linebackers and Batson is next in line. Strong physical guy that measured in at 6’0 192. Tested well in all the metric categories and performed well in the 1v1s. On his freshman film you can tell why the coaches are so high on this young guy. Good vision with an explosive 1st step that can make plays sideline to sideline. Violent tackler.
Highlights
We wrote about this Macon Co RB in one of our earlier posts, he impressed us all day. Great size at 5’9 191. Absolutely tore the testing portion of the day up with a Top 10 40 time and 9’6 broad jump. PRZ has him ranked as the #1 RB prospect in the 2027 class and based on Saturdays performance he has has the tools to get it done. Physical runner last season at Macon Co, not afraid to put his head down and run over defenders. Has the speed to get to the outside and by the defense. Big sophomore season coming up for this young man.
Highlights
Benton is one of those guys I talked about in the opening paragraph that is on the verge of breaking out. He had a Top 10 40 time and had the 2nd longest broad jump of the day at 10’0. Has the natural athletic ability to be a big contributor for Central Gwinnett over the next 3 years. Quick feet and has good vision at the line of scrimmage. Good student in the classroom with a 3.6 gpa and with added weight and strength he will be a player to watch.
Highlights
Little is another guy that is waiting his turn and will be a name you will hear more from down the road at Northside WR. Measured out at 6’2 167 was showed his agility with one of the fastest shuttle times on the day. Tall, lean build that has plenty of room to add weight. Plays in an outstanding program at Northside and with a good offseason and hard work in the weight room we will be hearing more about this guy over the next 3 years.
Highlights
Josh is an interesting prospect. Measured out at 5’11.5 190 and plays DE at one of the top programs in Alabama at Oxford. Showed agility in the shuttle run and had a 8’5 broad jump. You can tell from his freshman highlights that the kid is physical. Has the explosiveness and speed to get around bigger OL and is always around the football. Depending on his physical development progresses over the next 3 years I could see him adding speed and playing LB at the next level.
