In order to be considered, prospects must: 1. Have a 2023 highlight tape 2. Be in the class of 2025-2027 In this edition, I’ll be coming through the Big 8 Conference with schools in Southern Mid Michigan. As it turns out, the league winner, Union City, is the only school in the conference with decent tape.
’25 RB | Dylan MacDonald | Union City | Hudl
First up we have running back Dylan MacDonald. He’s a high-effort runner who’s able to bounce it outside frequently and outrun defenders. He’s also a bit shifty in the open field. Dylan plays extremely well in the structure of the offense and always seems to know which hole to hit. He doesn’t try to do too much, runs north-south, and runs very hard. If Dylan works his tail off this offseason, he could prove to be a sleeper prospect for the NAIA.
’25 LB | Aidan Decker Aidan Decker 6'0" | 185 lbs | LB Union City | 2025 State MI | Union City | Hudl
Aiden’s film is legitimately super fun to watch. There isn’t a ton to go off of here, but he looks like a solid linebacker/TE who played a big role on Union City this past season. There are a few plays where he reacts quickly to the fun and promptly stops it; delivering a good hit in the process. His two interceptions show some nice hands and ability to defend the pass. The second interception especially shows some good instincts and hands. Like his teammate Dylan, if Aidan works his tail off this offseason, he could get looks from NAIA colleges.
’25 DE | Caden Hughe| Union City | Hudl
Caden is just a solid small-town defensive end. He’s a bit hard to spot in this film because he doesn’t highlight himself pre-play, but he is #63. I like his getoff and overall effort on each highlight. He does a good job of getting into the backfield and making some plays on a few occasions. He still has a lot to learn about the position, and I hope he’s able to improve and show out even more next season!
’25 RB | Lukas Strine Lukas Strine 5'8" | 170 lbs | RB Reading | 2025 MI | Reading | Hudl
Lastly, we have Lukas Strine Lukas Strine 5'8" | 170 lbs | RB Reading | 2025 MI from Reading. He’s straight-up just a solid small town running back. He runs north and south, does his best to keep his legs moving, and has the speed to outrun most defenders. He’s also utilized a bit in the passing game, which I love seeing from any running back. Going forward, Lukas’s game would reach a new level if he really worked on his contact balance, stamina, and overall athleticism. I see the foundations of a great athletic running back, and if he works on it this offseason, he could get there!
