One of our most popular features from last year is BACK! We are returning the “Freshman Friday” series to help get jumpstart your 2027 recruiting boards.
Check out the first Freshman Friday article of the year, featuring 4 frosh prospects who are sure to be big names soon!
I was able to get a good look at Kobe during Coach Kieron William’s “Bet On Yourself” camp. The North Star prospect displayed a lot of tenacity and aggressiveness, competing against some really good receivers in attendance. He’s smooth and fluid with his hips and can quickly change directions. Allen is a willing tackler who has no issues breaking downhill to help in run support. He also shows a lot of promise as a kick/punt returner, recording a punt returned for a touchdown. Kobe already has a season of varsity experience under his belt and should only continue to elevate his game as a sophomore.

Over the years, we have seen some prolific kickers come out of the Cornhusker State. Norris freshman Evan Greenfield Evan Greenfield 6’2″ | 170 lbs | K Norris | 2027 NE is an early candidate to join some of the big names of NE prep kickers. Evan earned first-team All-Class B honors after finishing his frosh season with 62 total points. Evan knocked down 44 of his 46 PATs for an impressive 95.6%. He also converted 6 of 7 field goal attempts with a long of 41 yards. A great start to what should be a high-scoring career!
The Silver Hawks have some exciting talent on their defensive line, including up-and-coming freshman Maclain Milius Maclain Milius 6’4″ | 205 lbs | DL Lincoln Southwest | 2027 NE . Maclain moved up to varsity this past season and is in line for a promising role in year 2. He’s a very lengthy player at 6’4″ and has a solid reach to help him create separation on the edge. He uses great hand placement, which can turn violent when it’s time to disengage from blocks. Milius also played on the offensive line for the Silver Hawks and held his own against some of the top D-linemen in Class A. There were still some learning moments on the OL for Maclain, but overall, he flashed a great skillset with a ton of potential. He uses his leverage very well and has the strength to overpower defenders at the point of attack. The sky is the limit for Maclain, especially as he continues to fill out his frame and develop.

The last name might ring a bell for a lot of folks. Shaun Hall Shaun Hall ATH Bellevue West | 2027 NE , younger brother of Nebraska wide receiver Dae’Vonn Hall, looks to be next in the long line of high-flying Bellevue West. We could see Shaun take on a big role next season as the Thunderbirds will be losing four of their top five receiving leaders from 2023. Shaun already displays the work ethic and potential to be a high-level recruit by the time he’s a senior. Hall’s footwork and route-running ability have stood out at camps I’ve seen him at. I look forward to seeing what Shaun can do in the next 3 years.
