2028 Nebraska Under the Radars to Know

As the new head scout for the state of Nebraska for Prep Redzone, I end the month of July on the hunt for the under the radar names that are in our 2028 class, not just focusing on the top-tier kids, but the ones that can play on Saturdays from small schools across the Heartland. We gathered our list of evals on some of the most uncovered names in the state as these under the radar names fall just outside our top 75 and beyond. There's some names surely to untap for those looking for prospects on Saturdays out of this group.    This might be my first kicker in Nebraska I have evaluated, but I feel we found an up and comer in Lincoln Southeast's [player_tooltip player_id='1732392' first='Carlo' last='Rissetto']. The hangtime you see on the vast amount of his kicks pass the eye-test and a quick hitter I liked about Carlo on tape is he's not afraid to run down a ball carrier on kickoffs around the edges and shows more speed and physicality than you might expect to see out of the average kicker downfield. His kickoffs consistent get to the opponents five yard line or deeper, so might we have a potential stockriser amongs the specialists in this 2028 Nebraska class? Surely could be the case.     Abram might be newer to my eyes but he sits as our DB8 in the 2028 Nebraska class for a reason, as even with light tape he shows off the traits I look for at the cornerback spot, He's a persistent ball-tracker when in press man coverage as you can find Abram constantly in the pocket of the WRs he matches up with from a physicality standpoint and can travel downfield inch for inch on intemrediate and deep routes. I'd love to see more tape come out with this young man, as I think there's upside that hasn't even gotten seen yet with what's out there presently. 10.95 100-meter dash runner as well.     Cameron is a 2028 prospect out of Lincoln Southwest that might have saw JV reps as a sophomore, but man surely am excited to see what he can do with more varsity film this fall. The 6'4 230 pounder we have rated as an OL, but based what's on tape he surely fits more in my eyes as a defensive at the next-level. The first skillset that I noticed is how long this young man's arms are which surely peek into the upside that he has over his next couple of seasons at Lincoln Southwest. He's realtively balanced when it comes to the twitch you see off his first step and shows off good consistence with his pad-level on tape. He's surely a name with some upside that QBs should watch out for in his upcoming junior season.     Kaleb doesn't waste time showing off the athleticism he can bring with his legs outside of the pocket, as he's also one that stays quite fluid in his movement even when he gets downfield. Adding to that athleticism, he's one that has great arm strength and timing with his wide receivers especially on intermediate routes as he surely doesn't lose any gas in his arm making throws from the run and still has the touch you want to see especially around the edgefs. The position flexibility is also there for Kaleb in the receiving core, as he utilizes his skills with being proficent at the small details.     Elias isn't going to be the biggest right guard you are ever going to see at 6'3 210 pounds out of Conestoga, but he makes up in a handful fo ways. Off the first look, he shows off the body control that stays in position for the long-haul which as it turns out in the end, the finish this young man has usually leads to some pancakes. Elias is one that I feel wins a lot of his 1v1 reps with that positioning, as that comes up on a consistent basis the more you watch him on tape. I need to see more on tape for a deeper eval into his junior season to see if he can move the needle into our top 100 overall.     Samuel might be a 2028 linebacker that is undersize for the position, but there's no doubt in my eyes that this young man can play on Saturdays based on what I see. He's got a hard running motor that is hard to miss off the snap and has a downhill accelerator that gets downhill to the ball carrier quite suddenly. He also shows off the short area vision that doesn't take long to see the instinvie traits come out and the upside to grow there is getting more eye-catching pursuit angles as a tackler. I also was intrigued by the amount of range that this young man had as his disposal on tape. Surely a name to keep an eye on in his upcoming junior season at Hasting St. Cecilla that was a stockriser in this 2028 class last update.
