It takes all but half a second of seeing Early to realize that there might be something special brewing. Yes, the frame is fantastic, but he knows how to use it. He's a raw, but fairly good athlete. He's rangy, light on his feet, and can bend fairly well for 6'6". He's a 2-way player for North Side, so the potential is currently limitless. He's got good reaction speed and can also cover quite a bit of ground when needed. Right now, you have to look at him as a DE prospect in my opinion. Not only is that where he's had the most success, but I feel that's where he's got the most potential. He has absolutely no issue rushing the passer and creating pressure. During his junior year, he put up 32 tackles, 10 TFLs, 6 sacks, and forced 1 fumble. When he's been let loose, he's caused havoc in the backfield. He can reach a full other gap it seems and when he latches onto a ball carrier, they don't get away. Strong hands don't quite say enough here. With the frame and athletic ability Early has, if he can develop there's a good chance he'll be doing the same thing on a TV screen on Saturdays near you.

[player_tooltip player_id='1165942' first='Anthony' last='Ludington'] - Lawrence North - DL - 6'4" 230lbs

Having one of the best defensive seasons of anyone in the Indy region this past fall was Ludington, but you won't see his name mentioned anywhere. I'm not sure if it's because the team didn't have the year they wanted, but when you're going against the top players in the state and dominating, you need your recognition. Ludington is 6'4" and explosive. He's great at getting around the edge and even bending underneath the tackle when he needs to. He can fight off their hands and keeps his arms tight to his body. When he needs to reach and extend, he pretty much always has first contact and starts to drive them back. That's a big reason why he lived in the backfield last year. His 35 tackles, 14 TFLs, 10 sacks, 27 hurries, 2 passes deflected, and 1 forced fumble should have had him in conversation as one of the best edge rushers in the region. The little things he does you just have to appreciate. He'll throw his arms up if he doesn't get home. Since he's 6'4", he bats balls down. Little things quickly add up and Ludington certainly checks quite a few boxes.

[player_tooltip player_id='735672' first='Griffin' last='Tucker'] - Providence - DL - 6'1" 235lbs

Way back at the beginning of the season, Tucker was on the piece of guys making an impression through the first 3 weeks. I kept tabs on him after he started the season off hot, and he never cooled down. All he did last season was improve game after game. Heck, even down after down. It's why he made that piece back then. He was 1 of the most improved players through 3 weeks. He continued to play at a high level, leading the defense, and developing in different areas on the field. I've got him listed as a DL, but he's also their LT. However, the motor and relentless type of player that Tucker is has me confident he should play defense long-term. He put up 52 tackles, 28 TFLs, 11.5 sacks, and 1 forced fumble all while coming off of the edge and eventually dealing with double-team blocks later in the season. His junior season was impressive because it seemed like it came from nowhere, but maybe that's because I missed his development stage. Either way, with what Tucker did on the field last year, he should be hot on board right now. If he comes out and duplicates, or even improves upon his play as a junior, he'll be a hot commodity.
