Christmas is right around the corner. A time to see family, make memories, take time to relax, and exchange gifts. Also recently was the early National Signing Day. We saw a lot of athletes annouce their commitments. The best available has changed quite a bit, so today we are going to look at the gifted athletes that college coaches should still be trying to add to their 2024 Recruiting Classes. Don’t sleep on these kids.
You will be hard pressed to find a more talented uncommitted OL in WI. Noah has such a high level of talent in so many key areas of the OT position. He has elite size and length at 6’5″ 280 lbs. More importantly is how well Noah uses that rare size. The strength is off the charts. Noah has the power behind his heavy hands to deliver devastating initial punches. The pancakes piled up this season, with many being after that first contact. Along with the power to reset the line of scrimmage 5+ yards downfield, Noah also has the range to reach DL or get up to the second level. He also has a reliable pass set that he can get deep in to cut off speed rushers trying to get around the edge. The big man has shown he is light on his feet, can move and mirror pass rushers, and when he sets his anchor is able to stand up DL on the spot. Draeger has seen plenty of recruiting attention, but I wouldn’t be surprised if some high level teams check him out now that the early signing day has passed.
Teams looking for mismatch speed and agility need to tune into the tape of MAS WR Randy Moore Randy Moore 5’10” | 165 lbs | WR Milwaukee Academy of Science | 2024 State WI . His film is fun to watch. Whether on kick return or at WR, any time Randy touches the ball could result in another highlight reel play. He has 10.87 100M track speed that carries over to the field. You see him easily eat up cushions from DBs, beat pursuit angles, and the body control and balance are there to make his route running very effective. After the catch, Moore has also shown the elusiveness and agility to make defenders miss. Don’t overlook the Milwaukee standout.
The #1 uncommitted senior in WI is Kaukauna’s Finnley Doriot Finnley Doriot 6’1″ | 185 lbs | QB Kaukauna | 2024 State WI . Doriot finished his career with single season and career record breaking performances that more college programs need to take a look at. Finnley is a dual threat QB who can hurt a defense through the air or on the ground. Doriot has a reported 4.65 40 yard dash, and the tape shows it. He repeatedly broke off long runs by getting to the edge or showing impressive burst between the tackles. The arm talent is the major reason why teams need to check him out. Finnley is able to stretch the field with a big arm. His blend of touch/accuracy matches the raw power to get the ball 40+ yards downfield consistently. Finnley is a poised passer also. You will see him stand tall in the pocket, move through progressions, and make smart choices. He doesn’t panic, and clearly had mastered the offense. Finnley has the mental side of the position, the size, arm talent, and athleticism. Don’t sleep on the QB.
Highlights
It has been impressive watching the rapid growth and development of Jacoby’s game over this past year. The RT possesses the rare height/weight/length you want in a high end OL prospect. Jacoby now stands at 6’5″ 270 lbs with an impressive 81″ wingspan. Jacoby faced a lot of WI’s best defensive talent this season, and still made dominant plays. In the run game, Jacoby has a firs step that quickly closes him onto the DL. He transitions that burst into power as his heavy hands clamp onto his man and he runs his feet through the block. Krill also has shown that he can get up to the second level. In the passing game, Jacoby has a very reliable anchor that he can set into and completely stuff bull rush attempts. Jacoby uses his length to his advantage to make first contact, and you still see that nasty streak to finish blocks with aggression that you don’t see often at the high school level in pass protection. Give the big OT a look.
Highlights
We stay at Sussex Hamilton for our next 2024 steal. WR Andrew Eichmann Andrew Eichmann 6’5″ | 200 lbs | WR Sussex Hamilton | 2024 State WI is a vastly under the radar prospect to check out. He has a big time frame for the position, and an athletic profile to go with it that you won’t find much of in WI. Andrew is 6’5″ 200 lbs, and runs a reported 4.60 40 yard dash. Those two traits allowed Andrew to repeatedly win on the field. His highlights are full of Andrew getting behind the defense with his speed. He is able to pull away from CBs at the HS level. We also see the big target go up and high point the ball. That is huge in redzone scenarios. The senior tracks the ball downfield well and can adjust to it. I believe his best football is still ahead of him.
I became a big fan of Tyler’s during the preseason rankings update. Tyler looked poised for a breakout senior campaign, and the defensive standout delivered. The 6’3″ 210 lbs athlete lined up at ILB and OLB and flew around the field making plays. The senior has the range needed in today’s game. He can chase down plays from sideline to sideline and also drop into coverage. The instincts he plays with at off ball LB jump off the tape. He flows with the OL, maintains his gap, and fills it with aggression and sound tackling. The senior is quick to process plays and put himself in position to make an impact. Tyler proved he can play at the next level, and teams have started to take notice. Make sure the Arrowhead standout is on your boards.
